ZKV Draft Day

Posted on May 10, 2010 in Nike | 7 comments

draft2Again with the delayed posts. It’s been another crazy week in my world so you’ll have to be patient. I finally had the chance to drop by BHS last week but with all the work, parties and whatnot, I only had time to post these today. These are the Zoom Kobe V Draft Day colorway. For all those who hopped on the Kobe wagon in recent years, you might not have known that it was actually the Charlotte Hornets (yes, Hornets and not the Bobcats, up until ’05 I believe) who draft the HS kid out of Lower Merion HS. Once drafted, LA traded away Vlade for the high school phenom we now know as the Black Mamba.

Nike has done a couple of previous Draft Day colorways before, with the IV being the most recent one prior to this one. I like this better than its predecessor simply because of the clean cut silhouette. The teal isn’t too overpowering but enough for you to figure out its team’s colorway. The lace has been a downer for some, but I think it’s just right to put some additional flair to the shoe. The flywire on the upper and tongue’s not as detailed as the other flywire skins on the other ZKVs. Anyways, the shoe still retails for 6,995 Php at most Nike Parks and Stadiums.
