The Nike LeBron Soldier 12 “Agimat” is dropping soon

Posted on Jun 4, 2018 in Nike

Earlier today, Nike posted a photo of the LeBron Nike Hypercourt chiding fans if they noticed anything different. If you paid close attention, you’d realize that LeBron is now wearing the Soldier 12 in the “Agimat” colorway. Nike Basketball captured the Pinoy’s unparalleled belief in the supernatural and LeBron James’s superhuman efforts to strive for greatness and put it all into one shoe.

Like its previous variants, the LeBron Soldier features a simplified strap, lower collar, and circular knit upper that, according to Nike Senior Footwear designer Jason Petrie, is a “symbol of toughness”, just like the Filipino. Carrying the line ‘Mula Mandirigma Sa Mandirigma’ (‘From One Warrior to Another’), the LeBron Soldier 12 Agimat is LeBron’s gift to Filipino warriors on the basketball court.

There are other details that you might find interesting, such as the MNL and 330 found on the shoe, standing for Manila and the zip code of James’ hometown of Akron, Ohio. A blazing flame represents the country’s many volcanoes and LeBron’s intense passion. Four stars remind everyone of The King’s 4 MVP awards. Finally, a steep mountain is a subtle nod to the terrain of the Philippines and James’ relentless drive to be the best to ever play.

If you’re looking to cop the Nike LeBron Soldier 12 “Agimat”, the shoe will be available in the Philippines starting June 15. The shoe will retail for Php 6,745 and will be available at select Nike Park and Titan branches.
