The Nike Air Max ‘Sketch to Shelf’ Pack drops this weekend

Everybody knows I’m a huge Air Max fan. As much as MJ and basketball solidified my love for sneakers, it was the Air Max franchise that got me hooked. The Air Max 1 forever changed the game as Tinker introduced visible ‘Air’ to the world. With the upcoming ‘Sketch to Shelf’ Pack, Nike Sportswear revisits Tinker Hatfield’s masterpiece and brought his original sketches to life.

Air Max 1 ‘Sketch to Shelf’

For the ‘Sketch to Shelf’ Air Max 1, the mudguards and side panels aren’t filled in completely and the tongue tab features the first Air Max logo concept. The shoe also features handwritten notes throughout, giving you a sense of what Tinker had in mind. Lastly, “SKETCH, PROPERTY OF NIKE NOT FOR RESALE” text is found on the inner lining. The Air Max 1 ‘Sketch’ will be available at Sole Academy (BGC) and Commonwealth (@copdate).

Air Max 1 ‘Schematic’

On the other side of the spectrum, the Air Max 1 ‘Schematic’ takes inspiration from the shoe’s original design process. The shoe comes in a white upper with black detailing throughout. The schematics of the shoe such as materials, different height components and line work are seen throughout the shoe. Just like the ‘Sketch’, Tinker Hatfield’s iconic signature is on the right heel and “SCHEMATIC, PROPERTY OF NIKE NOT FOR RESALE” is also found on the inner lining. The Nike Air Max 1 ‘Schematic’ will also drop at Sole Academy (BGC) and Commonwealth (@copdate).
