Sole Academy just dropped the Air Max 97/BW

Surprise, surprise.

Just when you thought you were going to be wishing and hoping the sneaker gods to be nice to you with all the crazy releases lined up this week, this falls on our laps. From the Prestos (both Acronym and Off-White), the LeBron 16s and a couple more we’ve yet to post, let’s just say this week will really do a number on your wallet.

Then these popped up.

Earlier this evening, Sole Academy announced the two Air Max 97/BWs that just dropped at their store. Sure, Skepta was the first to use the Air Max 97/BW for his collab, but these signal in the first non-collab drop for the hybrid.  The first colorway pays homage to the two iconic silhouettes that comprise the 97/BW. Nike took the Metallic Silver upper of the Silver Bullet and applied it to the BW. The BW’s iconic Persian Violet was then used on the Swoosh and ankle detailing. Just like the 97/1 and the Air Max 97 Plus, the 97/BW just works. If you weren’t paying close attention, you would think the 97 Air Sole was made for the BW .

Aside from the Persian Violet colorway, Sole Academy is also releasing the Black/Hematite colorway. If you want to go a little more low key, then this might be the one for you. Dressed in black with that luminous accent on the overlays, the Air Max 97/BW is as simple as they come, but the details definitely shine through.

The Nike Air Max 97/BW QS ‘Persian Violet’ and ‘Black/Hematite’ are now available at Sole Academy. Each pair retails for Php 8,545 and are now available at their BGC store. Or you can wait for the pairs to release at their online store in the coming days.
