Nike Sportswear releases new colorways for the Air Max 270 React

Posted on Sep 28, 2019 in Nike

Ever since debuting the shoe last July, the Air Max 270 React has been the brand’s go-to everyday sneaker. Taking inspiration from different Art periods, the shoe came in such colorful packages, bringing more life to your feet and your overall fit.

This season, Nike brings out five (yes, 5) new colorways for the Air Max 270 React, this time taking inspiration from different genre of music. While we aren’t getting the full set (just yet), we are getting three of the new colorways — Hip Hop, Heavy Metal and Reggae — across our favorite stores. Alongside the three, two new women’s pairs also dropped and are now available via Nike stores and stockists. Here’s a rundown of what’s available this weekend:

Air Max 270 React ‘Hip Hop’

While it is your traditional ‘triple black’ colorway, the Air Max 270 React definitely reminds us of that black on black ensemble some rappers strut their wares in. With different materials and textures throughout the upper, the Air Max 270 React ‘Hip Hop’ is sure to score big. To add extra detail, a gold chain print and Nike Air logo can be found on the shoe’s insole.

Air Max 270 React ‘Heavy Metal’

While the shoe is dubbed ‘Heavy Metal’, we don’t directly see the association, save for the staccato gold Swoosh enveloped in the deep hues of blue and purple throughout the shoe’s upper. Just like the Hip Hop colorway, the Nike logo on the insole is done in rock/heavy metal print.

Air Max 270 React ‘Reggae’

To round out the music pack, the “Reggae” colorway is meant to evoke the lively and rhythmic spirit of its namesake genre through an earthy forest green and tan color blocking. A rasta-inspired insole completes the shoe’s look.

On the other side of the coin, Nike released two new colorways for women; one with gradient overlays and another with bleached coral with black. Both may seem subtle at first, but actually work really well. The Nike Air Max 270 React retails for Php 7,645 and is now available at Sole Academy, Capital, Nike Park, NDC and select Nike stockists around the metro.
