Nike pays homage to Pre with this new sneaker

Posted on Jul 14, 2018 in Nike

Nike may have dominated Basketball among other sports but its roots will always and forever be in running. When Phil Knight and Bill Bowerman started the brand in the 70s, they had a gifted athlete as their muse — Steve Prefontaine. Prefontaine was a prodigy and was the brand’s first athlete/endorser. It’s quite unfortunate that Prefontaine died in a tragic car accident in 1975 but his spirit lives on with the way the brand strives to be the best.  Nike continues his legacy with their latest retro running-inspired sneaker, the Pre-Love OX.

Nike released a running shoe for Pre back in the day but this isn’t an update of it. The retro looking sneaker resembles some of the brand’s running silhouettes such as the Cortez, Night Track and even the Pegasus 83. But what immediately jumps at you is the big Swoosh that overlaps into the eyestays. Aside from the oversized Swoosh, the Pre-Love OX also features reverse tongue tags and the words “Nike” and “Swoosh” on each heel. This women’s silhouette comes in two colorways — black and olive.

The Nike Wmns Pre-Love OX is now available at Sole Academy (BGC/ATC/Online) as well as Capital (black only; all branches), and retails for Php 4,195.
