I’m backlogged. Thank God for the lengthy holiday break. Most of the stuff I’ll be posting is quite old to the sneakerhead community. But Sole Movement’s for sneakerheads and non-sneakerheads alike. I aim to educate and let people know, regardless of time. I heard these Nike drops came out as early as the second week of December (right after the un-Guccis). But with all the merry making and my aversion to malls during the holiday rush, I was only able to drop by Hideout last Saturday.

On top and below, you can see the Lunar Mariah. With Nike continuously pushing the envelope, they released these ultralight runners. As Hideout is really a lifestyle sneaker spot, these seem out of place. But the colorways are tight and thus fits in to the store’s shoe core. Packed with Lunarfoam outsoles and breathable uppers, the Lunar Mariah’s one of the lightest pairs you’ll find in the market for the holiday season.

Aside from the Mariahs, Hideout (as well as mother company Shoe Salon) also has the Air Safari Spike Lee Pack. The original Air Safari came out way back in 87. Nike pays tribute to Lee, a definite pop culture icon of the times. These Safaris get the Jordan red treatment, rather than its OG orange swatch. The tongue sports Spike’s thick rimmed glasses, a definite trademark of the famed director. Aside from the safari print and the red/black pattern, the shoe is also given contrast stitching to complete the revamped  look.

Last but certainly not the least are the oldest drops of the bunch. The Air Zoom Toki QS finally dropped here. These originally came out last September but who cares right? The Zoom Toki is definitely Nike’s answer to the Chukka. With Zoom Air and a vulc sole, the black on black piece is worth copping  if you’re on a limited budget kicks-wise.

The other weird occurence here are the Jordan 1 High Straps. We rarely see Js at Hideout (well, except for the DMPs) but it’s still a welcome addition to the set. These High Straps are Laker-inspired, with LA winning again the chip last June. These came out sometime in the Summer (which makes sense; with it being released this late, I don’t know).  So those are the Swoosh releases for December. Now it’s time to get ready for the DJ AM Dunks.
