Nike brings back Jack Mackerel along with a couple other friends this July

Posted on Jul 2, 2019 in Nike

Last May, Nike Sportswear fused the past with the present when they released their latest hybrid sneaker — the Nike React Presto. Inspired by the early 2000s original silhouette, the Nike React Presto makes the t-shirt for your feet even comfier this time around.

While the React Presto doesn’t carry the shirt sizing aesthetic from nearly two decades ago, it did however bring back some of the OG colorways/nicknames to this month’s releases. On the men’s side, two new colorways make it to our shores. We first featured the ‘White Ghost’ on our Instagram account (@solemovement) which is basically a Black/White rendition of the new Presto React. A white Ghost is also drawn on to the shoe’s insoles.

Jack Mackerel is back. Jack (Hyper Royal/White/Volt) was part of the original thirteen from the initial Presto run and it’s nice to see him get a 2019 facelift. The color blocking is essentially the same as the original, but now we get to see Jack on the shoe’s insoles.

On the Women’s front, two new colorways also make their debut this July. First up, we have one with a White upper coupled with a Hyper Violet cage. Luminous Green accents are found on the Swoosh and React midsole. While we’re still trying to figure out the nickname, we’re guessing it’s got something to do with a Unicorn, which is seen on the shoe’s insole.

Last but definitely not the least is another women’s silhouette. The last React Presto comes in a Half Blue (nearing Grey) upper with a Phantom White cage. Electric Green hits provide the pop to the sneaker. We’re still not quite sure of the shoe’s nickname but looks like this whale’s having a fine time with a cocktail in hand.

The Nike React Presto retails for Php 6,295. Both Men’s and Women’s colorways are now available at Sole Academy, Commonwealth, Nike Park, and Nike Forum (best to check out their feed for exact availability; some are still being shipped to the store as of writing).
