Who would’ve thought that BIG branding would be so cool after 20+ years? Back in the golden era of hiphop and sneakers, brands were going all out with oversized branding, from Tommy Hilfiger to Polo and all the sneaker brands. In ’96, Nike Basketball unveiled the Air More Uptempo, a retooled and revamped Air Uptempo shoe that definitely had more Air than ever. In fact, the AIR branding was emblazoned on the side panels so that you don’t forget that it was truly all about the Air.

This weekend, Nike pays homage to one of the most unforgettable dunks of the 90s by one of the greatest to ever wear the Air More Uptempo, Scottie Pippen. Sure, Pip didn’t wear the Air More Uptempo when he plastered Patrick Ewing, but this rendition puts the 90s in perspective as one of the greatest in sneaker/basketball history. The Air More Uptempo ’96 comes in a white and blue colorway, with Pippn’s 33 stitched on the heel, with the (in)famous dunk found on the shoe’s sockliner.

The Air More Uptempo ’96 drops tomorrow, September 23, at select Titan stores (Fort, Conrad, Shang, Alabang, Vertis, UPTC, G5, and, retailing for Php 8,095.
