In Focus: Nike Air Max 1/97 “Sean Wotherspoon”

As we are on Year 5 of celebrating Air Max Day, Nike has done an amazing job with regards to their releases and executions. From issuing a neon-ized Air Max 1, the Air Max Zero, special HTMs and last year’s Bring Back winner, the Atmos x Air Max 1 “Elephant”. For this year, Nike did the opposite by having the Vote Forward project, wherein fans vote a winner out of 12 new designs that would be created for Air Max Day 2018. The winner was Sean Wotherspoon’s entry with an upper of the Air Max 97 coupled with an Air Max 1 midsole/outsole. Wotherspoon’s design was inspired both by vintage corduroy Nike hats and input from a few credible sources.
