It’s been 20 years since US Professional ball players were allowed to participate in the Summer Olympics and the world was witness to the Dream Team. Magic, Larry, Michael, Sir Charles, Mailman, Patrick, David, Pip, Chris, John, Glide, and a college kid wowed and shocked the world and turned in a gold medal performance that we continue to relive and reminisce for the rest of our lives.
To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Dream Team, Nike Sportswear is bringing back iconic pairs that people can resonate to with regards to the Olympics. First up is the Air Force 1 High. Traditional USA colors- Red, White, and Blue rule this shoe’s colorway with gold accents to the Swoosh, heel tab and lace ornament. The clear outsole features a mini tribute to the ’92 Barcelona games and the classic Team USA logo was used on the shoe’s tongue. Although they were never worn in ’92, the AF-1 is the Nike Basketball king and no retro pack will be complete without it.
Slated to release on the 1st of July, these made it to a couple (if not all) of Nike Parks around the metro. It’s amazing Nike let this slide, especially when it comes to release dates, but pick up a pair today for 7,495 php if you can’t wait for the official release date.
