Check out Olivia Kim’s ‘No Cover’ Nike Collection

Posted on Nov 8, 2019 in Nike

Ready for the weekend?

Before we head on out to the weekend, Nike’s set to released their ‘No Cover’ Collection, inspired by New York City’s influencial ’90s street fashion. This collection was done in partnership with Olivia Kim, Nordstrom’s VP of Creative Projects.

For those too young to remember (or let’s face it, weren’t around during the ’90s), Rave and hip-hop were the scenes, and fashion was bordering on androgynous styles which worked for anyone and everyone. “No Cover” was the thing, as clubs wouldn’t have door charges, making it also available to everyone. In this collection, Kim and Nike Sportswear put together five (5) silhouettes and apparel that definitely reflect the street scene, donning bright and bold colors.

The Olivia Kim ‘No Cover’ Collection features the Air Force 1 Low, Air Jordan IV, Air Mowabb, Air Footscape and the Air Max 98. Each pair represents its own 90s fashion statemenet – Corduroy/Snakeskin mix for the AF1, faux pony hair for the ‘Black Cat’ Air Jordan 4, while the Air Mowabb goes for ‘dual personalities’ with its bold accents. The Air Footscape uses zebra print while the Air Max 98 uses green, yellow, and red accents representing dancehall/rasta which Kim adores.
