With the World Basketball Festival happening all weekend long up in NYC, people over on this side of the world can only salivate with the stuff coming out. Presented by Nike, Inc along with its other brands- Converse and Jordan Brand- releases for the WBF has been crazy. And knowing how Nike rolls, they really pull out all the stops for major events. Jay-Z performed a 30 min set to open the festivities the other day (video to follow). With this, Nike teamed up with Jigga for some pretty neat AF1s inspired by the World Basketball Festival. All Black Everything AF1s with Hova’s marks make this classic and instant classic.
The special collection is up for auction over at ebay and proceeds go to the Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation. Bidders can visit www.ebay.com/jayznikewbf to enter a bid. Only two pairs of each of the five designs will be created, one for the winning bidder and one for the man behind the design, JAY-Z. The charity auction began on August 12, at 9:00 a.m. ends on August 22. Bid now if you’re feelin’ it!
