Yes, February 17 is Mike’s Birthday (ok, I’m a day late but in the US, he’s still got a couple of hours left on his birthday). I’ve had this photo for about a week now but waited on the Air’s birthday to post these. 2010 marks Jordan’s 25th Anniversary in the shoe game. Ofcourse, 25 years ago, MJ rocked the 1s and changed sneaker history forever. And 25 years meaning Silver, JB will release all 25 pairs in a silver/white colorway. All 25 pairs will come out at various times throughout the year, beginning with the 1s. The 1s actually come in a special silver/aluminum case, similar to the AJ XVII. Back then, people were dissing JB for putting so much drama into a release. Now, it’s acceptable and even applauded for the class it brings. The tongue has the 23/25 to commemorate this special anniversary.

What’s crazy here is the price. The shoe retails for 7,495 PHP. A steal! I believe this shoe, with the nice packaging, a real steal at that price. Now, is that a reason for you to pick them up? They’re not tagged at 10k or higher, which people initially expected. The only drawback here is the silver foil they used on them Js.The cracked silver foil ruined it for me. I just feel it cheapened the shoe. If I had my way, I would’ve used the same shiny material they used on the Nitro Microphone AF1s. If they used that kind of material, you won’t be afraid to rock them daily.

But regardless, this year is big for Jordan Heads. Once again, Happy Birthday MJ. You are the reason why I love the game and why I love sneakers.
