This is for you, Manila: A closer look at the Air Jordan 4 ‘Manila’
As mentioned earlier today, Jordan Brand is opening their first-ever Jordan store in South East Asia this week. In celebration of this momentous opening, Jordan is releasing a limited edition Air Jordan IV Retro made to represent the Philippines’ love for the game and MJ.
The special Manila colorway uses different premium materials throughout its upper compared to the original Air Jordan — a nod to Philippine Basketball evolving to also compete with the very best in the world. The gree upper represents the lush tropical islands of the country. Pops of red and blue hits along with the yellow Jumpman logo reflect the colors of the country are found on the shoe’s outsole. The shoe also comes with a bright, yellow ‘Manila’ Jordan hangtag. On the inside tongue, you’ll also see that each shoe is individually numbered, making this 150-pair run as elusive as it can be.
The Air Jordan 4 ‘Manila’ will be available this Thursday, December 3, when the Jordan Manila store officially opens its doors to the public. Do note that you can only purchase this shoe via raffle on opening day. For official raffle mechanics, head on over to @nikepark_ph on Instagram on how you can get your hands on these.
