The Jordan ‘Tinker Icons’ Series continues with Air Huarache Light

Posted on Oct 19, 2018 in Jordan Brand

Earlier this month, Jordan Brand kicked off the Tinker Series with the Air Jordan 6 ‘Trainer SC 2’. Taking inspiration from non-Jordan creations of Tinker Hatfield and applying them on to the Jordan line, this weekend’s release focuses on pair of sneakers from 1994. Back in the 90s, Tinker released the Huarache to further break the mold of running sneakers. Against the Nike execs, Tinker produced a couple thousand pairs and sold them at the New York Marathon. This sparked an entire Huarache line that would eventually cross over to Basketball and Training. With the succes of the Huarache, Hatfield worked on the Air Huarache Light – an updated version of the runner with modernized materials that would make the shoe even lighter than its predecessor.

The Huarache Light went on to become a hit and was even seen on MJ’s feet during his brief baseball stint. The Air Huarache Light’s bright colors are adapted on to the Air Jordan X, another sneaker that dropped on the same year. The Air Jordan 10 ‘Air Huarache Light’ drops today, October 20, at Titan for Php 9,445.
