Jordan pays homage to his rivals with this colorway of the Air Jordan XIII
Passing of the torch?
While most experts would say the ’92 Barcelona Olympics was the true passing of the torch from Magic/Larry to Michael, some might say it was really during the 1991 NBA Finals. MJ finally made it to the NBA Finals and he faced the best possible rival he could in the guise of Magic Johnson and the LA Lakers.
For this season’s retro program, Jordan Brand conjures a ‘Rivals Pack’ if you will, from MJ’s storied career. Jordan pays homage to the Southern California team he took down in a series that had one of the most memorable plays that spelled doom for La La Land. Utilizing the Air Jordan XIII, the shoe comes in a white upper, with court purple suede wrapping the mudguard and heel. Purple and Gold also adorn the shoe’s outsole – a definite call back to the team hailing from Inglewood.
The Air Jordan XIII Retro ‘Lakers’ is now available at Titan (Vertis, Conrad, Alabang, Titan22.com), with the shoe retailing for Php 9,895.
