From Barcelona to China: Jordan gives us this amazing Air Jordan VII

Posted on Sep 12, 2020 in Jordan Brand

There is no question that Michael Jordan made the game global when he and the rest of the Dream Team made waves in Barcelona back in 1992. Through the course of sneaker history, we’ve seen numerous Air Jordans made specifically for MJ’s fanbase across the globe. Whether its Tokyo exclusives, Quai 54s or Chinese New Year joints, Jordan Brand can easily trace everything from that momentous summer in ’92.

While we have seen several CNY-inspired Js over the last decade, Jordan Brand commemorates MJ’s 2nd Olympic Medal and his ever-growing fanbase in China with this special Air Jordan 7 GC (Greater China). The White/Chile Red-Black/Metallic Gold colorway seems pretty basic for Jordan fans but details found throughout make this shoe extra special. Colorful dragon and cloud graphics are found on the shoe’s medial side, while the same graphics are seen on the lateral side, pretty much like how it was rendered on the recent ‘Big Stage’ Kobe V Protro. The tongue features MJ’s name and number in Chinese while the bad on the heel is the number 9, MJ’s number during his stint with the Dream Team. To finish things off, the Air Jordan 7 comes with glow-in-the-dark outsoles for that extra flare.

The Air Jordan 7 GC ‘Chile Red’ drops today at Titan (Titan22.com and the TITAN app) as well as Nike Park (Fort). The shoe retails for Php 10,195.
