It’s the Remix! Converse re-upped their iconic silhouette, the Chuck Taylor All-Star. The Chuck Taylor All-Star Remix or the CT AS Modern Ox (local release name) comes in two colorways, the one you see above (Candied Ginger/Dress Blue-Egret) and Black/Egret. The initial colorways are pretty low-key and will work with whatever get up. The Remix uses a special textile upper matched with a suede toe cap, lining and a leather tongue tag. The Remix also replaced the traditional vulc sole with an EVA midsole, making the shoe really lightweight (if I’m not mistaken, we’re talking about 7.0 oz).
I think Converse wanted me to eat my words and take back everything I’ve said about the classic shoe. Don’t get me wrong, there’re only a handful of Chucks that I’ll ever consider and this is one of them. The newly-released shoe is now available in select Converse stores and retails for 3,350 php. I still don’t like the OG, but the Remix works for me.
