Last Saturday, Puma and HideOut released the latest in the ongoing collaboration between Puma and streetwear gods UNDFTD. This season, the collab produced the Snakeskin Pack. For those who aren’t familiar, Puma and Undefeated decided to use the iconic Clyde, and worked on the silhouette using different materials that have yet to be used on the Puma classic. The snakeskin formstripe gives the shoe that premium look to go with the soft high grade leather.

People came in droves and checked the three-color pack (the Forest Night and Aruba Blue cw aren’t available for purchase) out. Puma and Hideout were gracious to host the event and provide great beats, UNDFTD burgers, and booze throughout the night. Whether it’s Dark Shadows, Ribbon Reds, or the Whites, you’re definitely getting a pair that’s worth every penny.

Last year, Puma started bringing in their collaboration with street wear icon Undefeated (UNDFTD) to our shores through Crate and Titan. This Saturday, May 5, Puma’s back with the latest addition to the special partnership, the Clyde x UNDFTD Snakeskin Pack. These will drop exclusively at HideOut GB5 (it’s been a while since we’ve heard something from the store!). 36 pairs will be sold (12 pairs each for 3 different colorways) beginning 5pm.

For those not familiar with the collab, UNDFTD and Puma decided to use materials and textures not commonly used on the classic Puma silhouette. They’ve used microdots, stripe-offs, canvas, ripstop nylon, and now snakeskin for the Clyde. Inspired by the 80s, this collection incorporates snakeskin into the formstripe, with the PUMA branding and ‘Clyde’ signature debossed into the quarter panel for a subtle finish. The FOT, traditionally found on the back of the heel, is executed with snakeskin and moved to the inside of the heel.

For everyone purchasing a pair during the launch, Puma’s got something extra that’ll be worth the trip. Sportslifestyle brand PUMA^® has worked closely with the French influencers LA MJC on the next edition of the yearly published ALL GONE book. Being launched at Parisian based store COLETTE a couple of days ago, the 2011 ALL GONE book features a 12-page special edition insert presenting the PUMA x UNDFTD Clyde collection, which centers around one of PUMA’s most iconic and celebrated styles: The PUMA Clyde.

As I mentioned last weekend, the book is founded and initiated by Michael Dupouy, the ALL GONE is an annual review of the best and most notable limited edition items from the world of street culture and sneaker design.

In addition to the PUMA x UNDFTD Clyde insert, the latest edition of the ALL GONE book features nine pages of exclusive lifestyle footwear from 2011. Styles include: the Hanon Dallas, the Shadow Society States & GoreTex (GTX) States, PUMA Re-Suede and two Japan’s exclusive BEAMS x Disc Blaze and the MITA Clyde.

The partnership between PUMA and legendary culture brand Undefeated that has just recently been extended throughout 2012 is about pushing boundaries and refreshing a classic style and icon, the PUMA Clyde. Since April 2011, Undefeated and PUMA explore trends in the marketplace and collaborate to interpret these fashion and lifestyle nuances into footwear styles that are inclusive of both brands. It’s been a while since I’ve been to Shoe Salon. As we are in the season of celebration and taking time off work, Shoe Salon released a couple of Puma pairs new and exclusive to the store. As you can see, there are nine pairs from their archive that’ll definitely fit you, the after-hours athlete. From the Basket Classic (chocolate brown-whisper white, 3,670 php), Clyde Script (carafe-whisper white, 3,670 php), and the Mirage 76 Leather (black-black, 3,510 php), Puma stocked the store with classic silhouettes that are perfect all year round.

The El Rey is also a silhouette that’s fairly new that I a lot of lately. This season, there is a Corduroy-ed version (burnt olive-black coffee, 2,550 php) and a Mid (chocolate brown-team charcoal, 3,430 php) that may be to your liking. Aside from El Reys, there is the Puma Volley (black-limoges-celery, 3,190 php) and the 917 Lo (black-limoges, 2,710 php). Ladies shouldn’t fret as they did stock up on the Sneakerina Shimmer in black and ebony (2,710 php).

Don’t think PUMA’s just hopping on the boat shoe bandwagon with the Puma Yacht L (leather). PUMA’s got a Sailing line and a yacht racing team. This shoe is done with soft leather and looks like a traditional boat shoe with rubber outsoles for proper traction while on the go.

Here’s another Puma silhouette that might work for everyday wear. The Puma Benecio Leather is pretty no-frills, low profile sneaker that comes in two colorways. If you want something simple and straightforward, this should be for you. The PUMA Benecio retails for 3,190 php.

Puma brings back the H-Street, a shoe that was a hit roughly 10 years ago, for the Holiday season. Not so much that it’s a holiday shoe but with lightweight running shoes being the shit these days, it just makes sense to bring back a silhouette that really encompassed form and function. The H-Street was so versatile that it worked both on the track and the club. Two colorways are available at Sole Academy, but there are others to choose from at other Puma stores.

Last week,  global sportlifestyle brand PUMA revealed an inspiring and contemporary collaboration, launching technical football kits for PUMA’s 10 partnered African National football teams. Each kit is designed by a renowned artist from the Creative African Network (CAN) – a PUMA platform connecting and promoting artists from and in Africa. This unique collaboration is complemented by a month-long exhibition at the Design Museum, London that showcases the artists’ design inspirations. With the 2012 Orange Africa Cup of Nations^® fast approaching, the event was the perfect platform for PUMA to demonstrate how the brand has fused its work within sport and art, seamlessly bringing together two worlds that don’t often collide.

The PUMA partnered African national teams represented include Cameroon, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Algeria, Namibia, Senegal, Togo, Gabon, Burkina Faso and PUMA’s newest partner South Africa, which signed with the sportlifestyle brand in June 2011. The technical kits have been designed to maximise the player’s on-pitch performance. The jersey fits the body closely to avoid grabbing from the opponent, it also emphasises the physique of the players, allowing them to exhibit their physical presence on the pitch. The fabric features PUMA’s U.S.P Moisture Management technology, enhancing body performance by dragging moisture away from the body, enhancing air flow and keeping the body at the ultimate performance temperature.
