The Dunk (except for the SB Dunk Pro) finally made it back on Sole Movement! Not that I have anything against the classic sneaker from the Swoosh, but I just got tired of it. However, with the Black/University Blue colorway, it was hard to resist. Unlike most pairs from the factories, this one had great craftsmanship and quality. The Dunk High from the NSW line is one worth picking up if you’re looking for a powdery blue pair to rock.

The Nike Dunk High retails for 4,595 php and is now available at Titan’s Fort and Katipunan stores.

Here’s another pair I picked up over the break. Saw them a while back but decided to pull the trigger the other day. The Nike Lunar Flow+ is a retooled version of the Air Flow (which I thought they would release locally). Lightweight materials and Lunarlon cushioning. The Lunar Flow is also Nike+ compatible, making it a good shoe to use for short runs around the block. Two colorways are available, sport red/white and pine green/pine green-sail.

If you’re looking for a sleek, holiday shoe, you might want to take a look at these. The Nike Lunar Flow finally arrived and now available in two colorways (red and green).  If you check the video out how the Lunar Flow came to be, you’ll see that it was really the framework for the Presto, Free, and Lunar Racer. The remixed Air Flow now uses Lunarlon cushioning and hyperfuse-type construction on the upper, making it more in sync with today’s style and training needs. This holiday season, the Lunar Flow goes for tonal uppers with the lining, tab, and soles in white for proper contrast.

The Lunar Flow is now available at Nike Parks around town for 4,495 php (shoe sizes vary from 7-13).

I’m not sure if I did this on purpose or my brain automatically dumps the Dunk into a virtual recycle bin, but these are definitely a couple of weeks late on here. The Nike Dunk Low “Aztec” done in Iguana/Dark Copper-Sable Green colorway dropped in Nike Parks and Stadiums. As the Aztec Pack was done to a whole slew of NSW pairs (AM90s, AM1s, Dunk Highs, Blazers), we here got one of the Dunk Lows. A mix of suede and full grain leather is used throughout the shoe while an  Aztec print can be seen on the middle panel. The Dark Copper Swoosh creates the contrast on the earthy toned classic. The Dunk LowAztec goes for 3,995 php (thanks Don for the price tip!).

Like I said a couple of days ago, I was blessed to see the Fall/Holiday 2011 Collection for Nike Sportswear along with a select group from the media. Though there weren’t any major AMs in sight outside of the Fuse 90s, there were a couple of great color ups for the Toki, All Court, and the Dunk. In terms of newer silhouettes, the Air Ralston (both lows and mids) is my clear cut winner for the season. More on the Air Ralston real soon. The other silhouettes that I think would garner interest from the fans are the Hachi and the ACG-inspired Lava Dunk Premium High. Both pairs have their strong points and would definitely work for the new season.

For the ladies, new colorways for the Dunk, Cortez and Tenkay Slip all stood out for me. The Toki also comes in a special colorway and pattern that’ll be a sure hit in the coming months. Check out the photos below for a sneak peek at the collection.

Last Wednesday, I was treated to a presentation of Nike Sportwear’s Fall 2011 Collection and a preview of the Holiday 2011 (you’ll see them here soon). NSW brings back a couple of iconic silhouettes but with a couple of innovations. The AW77 Hoody and the Air Max 90 both got the remix with new fabric mixes and other tech to make these classics forever relevant.

The AW77 Hybrid Hoody is back with technology innovations featuring waterproof Vislon zippers, bonded seams and tape back construction for a better fit. The hoody is done with bright colors and contrasting accents to highlight the innovations forged into it. The AW77 Hybrid Fleece EZ (Men’s) retails for 4,295 php while the AW77 Team EZ Hoody (Women’s) goes for 3,795 php.

I love the Air Max. You all know that. I wasn’t too impressed when they applied Torch to it last year. This year, they applied one of their lighter uppers into the classic shoe. The Air Max 90 gets the latest hyperfuse treatment, better known as Fuse 2.0, creating an enhanced breathable, lightweight shoe. The three-layered upper of the Fuse 90s makes sure the shoe is stable, durable and has superior breathability. The colors used on the AM90 Fuse 2.0 are amazing beginning with a remixed Laser Blue. The Air Max 90 Fuse 2.0 retails for 5,495 php and is now available at Nike stores.

That was just the first part of last Wednesday’s event. To really take advantage of the new collections, we were invited to style the models and personalities and create our own style for the season. I worked with Dennis and Sally, both ready and willing to work the latest digs from the NSW Fall and Holiday collection (to see what’s coming, check out Dennis’ kicks). I also had the lovely Mia Bayuga try out the new AW77 Hoody along with a new colorway for the Dunk. Creative Guru AJ Dimarucot created the new NSW backdrop for the event and you can definitely see the shoot pop. I also want to thank Mark Chester Ang for making the shoot a breeze.

The AM90 Laser Blues dropped around September/October 2010 and for some reason a lot of pairs made it to our shores. Everyone wanted its Infrared brother more, thus the Laser Blues sat on most shelves. With a great price tag on them (4,295 php retail), it was rather odd to see them sit that long. Some stores gave up quick and offered them at 10-20% off. Still, I hesitated. I got my Infrareds and the Laser Blues weren’t an immediate concern.

Fast forward to July 2011. I swung by Market!Market! for a game of laser tag. I dropped by Sports Warehouse and saw a ton of Air Maxes, Js, and other pairs worth picking up. But my eyes were set on the Laser Blues. Lo and Behold, the AM90s were 40% off. 4,295.00 went all the way down to 2,577.00. A come up, and a definite-no-need-to-think-about-pickup. Here’s another prized pick-up from one of our readers, Marco Frias. For those who aren’t too familiar with these Air Force 1s, these are the “Jones Beach” AF1s, inspired by the Jones Beach by Long Island, NY. This quickstrike premium release of the AF1 came out around June 2010 and were released in select shops all over the US. Street Gear definitely put in the detail on them, from the cream canvas upper (signifying the sand at Jones Beach), icy soles (representing the water), laser etching by the heel panel (signifying the grassy patches that grow by the beach), and all the finer details all throughout the shoe (special tongue, latitude/longitude of JBeach, “Strong Island” on insoles, and the image of Long Island underneath the soles).

Outside of Bespokes, the Jones Beach AF1s were among the top AF1 releases of 2010. Marco was able to pick them up a couple of weeks back and even got on the phone with Street Geat CEO Rich, who gladly signed the box. Great pick up!

Straight butta. Sadly, these did not drop locally. Thank god for friends who travel overseas. The Air Max 1 Honeycomb/White/Blue Spark dropped a few months ago and my friend was able to pick up a pair in HK. He was able to get them with a discount and came out to 3,800 php, A STEAL compared to other AM1s available locally. Though it’s quite hard to wear this with the rainy season, it’s one runner that’s a definite neck-breaker. Check out the Honeycombs.
