The Nike Zoom Kobe VII System Supreme ‘Concord’ colorway is the second official colorway released for Kobe’s latest signature shoe with the Swoosh. The Leopard/Christmas Day cw dropped on the 26th, while today officially marks the official release of the Kobe VII. Being a Supreme edition of the Kobe VII, the shoe comes with two inserts- Attack Fast with Phylon midsoles and responsive Zoom Air for cushioning- and Attack Strong (which you see here) with the full-length cushlon and the unique ankle cuff for better mobility. Next generation Flywire on the upper completes the silhouette and overall performance of the VII.

The Nike Zoom Kobe VII System Supreme retails for 8,195 php and is available at Nike stores and stockists around the metro such as Titan (Fort and Katipunan). By the time you read this, they’re either gone or missing sizes. Cop these while you can.

Everybody’s been waiting for these to drop. Since early November you were seeing images of the Kobe VII and everyone wanted to see the VIIs Kobe will be wearing for Christmas Day as they face Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls. For the Christmas Day game, Kobe takes a page out of his Predator Pack when he wears the Leopard to the court. The purple/green upper keeps the shoe close to his previous Holiday kicks but the leopard print on the upper sets them apart from the rest. A galloping leopard graphic is seen on the heel to go with the spots and red contrasting laces.

With the Black Mamba tearing a ligament and being questionable for Opening Night (though Fish mentioned Kobe’s ready to play on Sunday), we might have to wait a couple more days to see the Kobe VII in action. The shoe, whether the System Supreme (which includes the Attack Fast and Attack Strong insoles) or the System (which only includes the Attack Fast/Zoom Air insole), is on everyone’s wish list heading into the New Year. Last weekend, I featured the Kobe VII System Supreme, Kobe Bryant’s latest signature shoe for the 2012 season. Nike- Available starting December 26, the Nike Kobe VII System Supreme is a performance system allowing players to customize the shoe, switching ankle support and midfoot cushioning.  The Nike Kobe VII System Supreme edition includes two interchangeable insert options allowing players to switch out the cushioning and ankle support to match their style of play.

These two midsole options allow players to customize footwear during practice or in a game to meet their performance needs.  The Nike Kobe VII System Supreme offers similar performance fit and feel as the Kobe V and Kobe VI, but offers a different look and includes additional performance customization.  In addition to the customizable insert options, next-generation Flywire technology provides lock-down support, a 3-D heel clip offers enhanced support, and a glass reinforced composite shank in the midsole gives responsive midfoot support.

Attack fast

If a player’s game is based on speed, there is the Attack Fast insert that features a Phylon midsole with Nike Zoom units in the forefoot and heel for the ultimate in lightweight responsiveness. It also has a low-cut, power-stretch cuff that hugs the foot for support. Its sock-like fit eliminates the need for a traditional tongue and inner sleeve, keeping the shoe lightweight.

Attack strong

For games that get intense and physical in the paint, there is the Attack Strong insert. It offers a full-length Cushlon midsole and an ankle cuff for a plush, comfortable ride with great support.  The sensory cuffs are made of an engineered power-stretch material that is padded and perforated for comfort and ventilation.

The Nike Kobe VII also tells a predator story that’s inspired by Kobe’s predator-like instinct. Predator patterns comes to life in the cast polyurethane outer shell as a “skin” simulating the look of three predator patterns mixed together – the Leopard, Great White Shark and Black Mamba.  This raised skin pattern lives on each shoe. Separately, a graphic pattern also lives under the “skin” on some colorways.  These color graphics are available for five different predators – the Leopard, Great White Shark, Poison Dart Frog and Grey Wolf.

Nike has partnered with the videogame NBA 2K12, from 2K Sports, to integrate the Nike Zoom Kobe VII System.  Beginning December 22 within the NBA 2K12 videogame, the shoe will release in unison with key retailers. Additional Kobe VII colorways will launch in the game at key moments throughout the year.

In addition to the Nike Kobe VII Supreme System, the Kobe VII is also sold in the Attack Fast version featuring the low-cut cuff and Nike Zoom air, without the Attack Strong insert.

Who has the count on the numerous colorways for the Kobe VI? It’s been a whole year already since Nike released the first-ever colorway for the Kobe VI. I thought the Lakers Gradient and 3D were the last Kobe VI pairs. I was wrong. If there is a Chaos colorway (not available locally), there is the Dark Knight. We’ve seen a Dark Knight colorway previously on the V and now it’s also on the VI. Taking inspiration from the Caped Crusader, the predominantly dark grey/black shoe uses blue glow on the Swoosh and chilling red on the Kobe logo on the tongue for accents.

Could this be the last colorway for the Zoom Kobe VI? We’ve seen over 20 colorways of Kobe’s sixth shoe and this is the second time Nike used the 3D pattern, but this time with Lakers colors. Like the All-Star pair, the heel and heel counters are different for each shoe, but both representing LA’s colors. To further create the contrast, each shoe is fashioned with a different set of colored laces to go against the heel counter (but if you’re not liking the additional contrast, there’s an extra set of white laces for a subtler effect.

As we are waiting for the season to start (if there is a season to look forward to), you might want to complete your Kobe VI collection with this exclusive release care of Titan. This is the Lakers Gradient Away colorway, a nice mix of club purple and del sol alongside a white midsole and Swoosh. We’ve seen gradients on the VI before but this is different and looks a lot more snake-like than previous versions of the shoe.

Another Kobe VI colorway drops this Wednesday to further reiterate that basketball never stops. Can anyone come up with the official number of colorways for the Zoom Kobe VI? Just like the V, the Zoom Kobe VI colorways just keep on coming. This weekend,  it’s the VI in the Lakers Home colorway. The Laker colors shine through with this one, making it one of the tamer colorways done for this edition of the Kobe. A speckled heel counter, purple and del sol accents throughout the shoe (mostly seen on the lining and midsole), and the patterned laces give this shoe extra character.
