It’s that time of the month to empty your wallets. It’s a stick up, care of weLegendary and Nike SB. 3 releases for now, all coppable– Club Purple Bruins, Realtree x Dunk Mid SBs, and the Dark Army P-Rod 4s. The Nike SBs are dropping this WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 13, 2010 2pm. For more images for the new kicks, check it out here at King Crux’ site. I’m personally loving the Bruins (especially with the price tag on these sick ones), but the Real Tree Camo Dunk is slowly lookin’ like a runaway hit among the three. Come to think of it, the 4s also look sweet. Oh who am I kidding, they’re all totally cop-worthy. So drop by weLegendary this Wednesday (or at least have someone swing by and get them for you).

I was due for a store check as it has been pretty busy with work an’ all. I dropped by MJ46 Center, an official Nike Factory Outlet over at Sun Valley/Bicutan. There were a couple of surprises. There were some pairs that would be on everyone’s radar a few months back. One release that didn’t really get the shine is the one you see above and below- the Blazer Mid Vintage. The OG look, with matching stained midsoles make for a great look. I personally like the black on white (above). Two colorways are available here and go for 2,660 php. Not bad right? This is a classic shoe that’ll never disappoint.

These next few pairs came out sometime March. The Aina Chukka- a woven mid panel and vulc soles- will work for the people looking for a shoe that’s not way too athletic but still sporty enough for the daily grind. The Aina Chukka now costs 3,500 php from 4,995 php. Also available at MJ46 are the 3GX pack. Blazers, Zoom Tennis Classics and the Macropus Lite (4,410 php). I remember commenting on these shoes before. I had nothing but great reviews for the three pairs, but price was the main issue it stayed on shelves. Hopefully with the marked down prices, they should go quick.

The last set of pairs are the Red colorways for both the Air Max 1 OG and the Air Maxim 1. I was looking at the OGs. My 09 retros are getting pretty worn out and having an extra pair wouldn’t hurt. It’s just sad they don’t have my size. The Air Maxim 1+ looks a lot like the OGs but with the flywire and the nylon upper. The downside to the shoe is that the upper turns yellow after a couple of uses. But the 30% markdown definitely makes the shoe coppable. I was tweeting yesterday that the (sneaker) game’s been quiet. Nothing worth mentioning was coming out locally and the site’s been awfully quiet. It was scary to a certain extent. I did some industry folk if it really is like this at the tail end of Fall. I just don’t like the feeling. It’s like you know what’s going down, but you just don’t know when. Calm before the storm, perhaps? And everytime this happens, I always know skate shop weLegendary to be in the thick of the madness. I do wanna thank wL for keeping me in the loop and keeping the game fresh. At least you know they’re putting in the work. From updating their SB stock to their new releases on skate goods, I do appreciate the crew for coming correct this September.

And just when I thought it was going to be a quiet month, they tear it up. Again.  Fall ’10 is definitely kicking in with more dark, muted colors with red becoming a strong accent for the season. From the Dunks (Lows, Mids, and Highs), P-Rods (4s and 2.5s), and everyone’s favorite, the Stefan Janoski SB (anthracites), you try your best to save up for one pair, but they bring out 6 that’ll definitely be worth every penny. They’re all dropping TOMORROW, September 10, 1pm. It’s a holiday so I don’t see any reason for you to miss out (unfortunately, I’ll miss out. World Cup of Pool happenin’ all week long). I don’t need to talk about the shoes in detail as the shoes will speak for themselves. Run to the nearest ATM and cash out.

I can easily make this a pass due to my lukewarm desire for Dunks and AF1s but I know it would be a disservice to the  community. Yes, there are a bunch of new Dunks and AF1s available in store now. The AF1s, both High and Low are both Premium Air Force 1s. They’re both part of the Check Pack- a pack that still baffles me. I’ve tried reading more about it but didn’t really get much. They do have a pattern by the middle panel and heel similar to the Futura joints from a few months back but that’s it.

The High tops come in Light Bone with Gum soles while the Lows are done in Red leather. The Highs look better with the gum sole as well as the muted color blocking, perfect for sunnier weather.

Then there are the Dunks. All Premium and neatly done. The black/reds I already posted on the Hideout update a few days ago, but the Blue/Grey/White and Orange/Gum ones are new to the update. I wasn’t able to take photos of the Polka dot Dunks for the ladies. I do remember seeing them a few months back during the Spring/Summer preview. The Blue/Grey are attractive, good enough to pass off as a Georgetown colorway. The Orange one is equally great as they are done in canvas and great for everyday wear.

I have to admit that I’m happy I gave up on the Dunk craze. After I stopped copping Dunks that’s when Nike opened the floodgates with the Dunks. From all sorts of material and special releases, it’s been a crazy 2 years with the Dunk. Can you imagine how much I would be spending on Dunks if I had continued?

Aside from the three Dunk Highs, there are a couple Dunk Lows worth mentioning. Though the colorways are reminiscent of a couple of Dunk Lows that came out earlier this year, or even far back as the Be True Dunks, they are matched differently. Tumbled leather with light suede makes it on both pairs. I like the black/grey version as it is easier to rock than the utility orange/blues.

Alright. So we’ve had the Purple Omars and the PRod Takashis. What about the rest? They’re all dropping this weekend. I don’t know if I should thank you guys or curse you to the ground. Sneaker budget’s over the roof this July! Dunk Low, Bruin (sweet. my pick from the lot), and the Bruce Springsteen Dunk Hi. Prices are way affordable and should be easy, no questions asked cops this weekend.

If you’re going to nitpick, you could say the paint job on the swoosh could be better. But could you have done the same thing your first time? The South Africa Kit was designed by Kronk, France by So Me of the Cool Cats Collective, Netherlands by graffiti artist Delta , England by James Jarvis, Brazil by Nunca, and USA by Mr. Cartoon. The mere fact that Nike NSW gathered these 6 amazing artists for their pack is simply amazing. I actually like the kit for England (Jarvis is a genius). Anyhoo, drop by Hideout for the Dunks. You’re lucky I’m not a fan of the Dunk anymore, I would’ve been on this like Delonte was on Gloria James. Ok. That was gross.

Here’s a Women’s Skinny Dunk I’m sure you’ve seen around. There’s actually 2 of them in this pack. I decided to go take a pic of the more colorful one. This is part of the Patchwork Pack for the Women’s Dunk series. Obviously you can see the checkers here. The other shoe has a more subtle design wherein they used pinstripes (the same pinstripes you see on this shoe). A couple more Women’s kicks in the coming days.

It sucks waking up in the morning with a hangover. I have the adidas Street Party to thank for that. I did have fun, mind you. But I guess I have to accept that I’m not in college anymore. I can’t get up the next day and eat long tests and hot days like it ain’t no thing. What’s worse is that my laptop crashed. again. Anyhoo, after dropping off my laptop over at the shop, I went straight to wL to check out the Skunk release. Once again, weLegendary brings ‘em out. A line was waiting right outside. for Skunks. I dunno. Not really feelin’ em, but to each his own, right? They are a nice addition to a Dunk collection (thank god I don’t do Dunks anymore). Heck, even the Obsidian/Red Dunk Lows are ok too. Half the stock disappeared when I was there, ofcourse going to the usual suspects. How do you guys survive? 3 straight weeks of releases from weLegendary? C’mon son. Anyways, congrats to those who lined up for their pair. First dude lined up at 12 midnight. That’s 13 hours for the Skunk. At least his smell would definitely match the shoe. Kidding! But kudos for coming out and getting yours. To the dudes over at wL, King Crux and the rest, I’ll see you ’til the next.
