Air Force 1s and Dunks are Nike Sportswear staples. They’ll forever be there, it’s just a matter of material, color or story behind them that’ll change. As it is always, white on whites are usually sold at the first quarter of the year and come out again during the summer. Nike released a couple of AF1s that are perfect for the season. First up are the AF1 Lows with the gingham lining. White AF1s with black or grey gingham lining with the matching swoosh to create a simple contrast. The gum sole completes the look, need I say more? The AF-1 Low retails for 4,095 php.

Aside from the basics and the ginghams, Nike also releases the True Colors/White Pack for the Summer. As this is the most opportune time to rock white kicks, Nike released a set of six pairs (an AF1, Foam AF1 High, Dunk High, Air BW Gen II, ACG Lunar Vengeance and an AM 90) all done with white uppers and translucent soles. Three made it here (unless I missed out on something)- the Dunk High, AF1 Low, and the AM90 (though this is also part of the Premium Pack for CBF). They are a bit pricey as they used special materials (icy or translucent soles, graphic on the underside of the midsole, and the crinkled patent leather- which Nike’s been using an awful lot this year) for the classic pairs. The AF1 retails for 6,095 php, the Dunk High for 5,295 php, and the AM90 for 5,995 php. You can now pick all these new pairs from NSW at Nike Parks and Stadiums nationwide.

I was tweeting yesterday that the (sneaker) game’s been quiet. Nothing worth mentioning was coming out locally and the site’s been awfully quiet. It was scary to a certain extent. I did some industry folk if it really is like this at the tail end of Fall. I just don’t like the feeling. It’s like you know what’s going down, but you just don’t know when. Calm before the storm, perhaps? And everytime this happens, I always know skate shop weLegendary to be in the thick of the madness. I do wanna thank wL for keeping me in the loop and keeping the game fresh. At least you know they’re putting in the work. From updating their SB stock to their new releases on skate goods, I do appreciate the crew for coming correct this September.

And just when I thought it was going to be a quiet month, they tear it up. Again.  Fall ’10 is definitely kicking in with more dark, muted colors with red becoming a strong accent for the season. From the Dunks (Lows, Mids, and Highs), P-Rods (4s and 2.5s), and everyone’s favorite, the Stefan Janoski SB (anthracites), you try your best to save up for one pair, but they bring out 6 that’ll definitely be worth every penny. They’re all dropping TOMORROW, September 10, 1pm. It’s a holiday so I don’t see any reason for you to miss out (unfortunately, I’ll miss out. World Cup of Pool happenin’ all week long). I don’t need to talk about the shoes in detail as the shoes will speak for themselves. Run to the nearest ATM and cash out.

I should really look for help with the sneaker updates. Hideout dropped these last week. Maharam Dunks for the ladies as well as a couple of Terminators for the fellas. I wasn’t able to take photos of the All Court vintages and the Sebago Docksides (new stock) also in store over at Hideout. It’s quite clear that I’m not too fond  of the Nike releases from Hideout. But the site’s here for the sole purpose of letting you guys know what’s up. Among the releases, I’d say the Maharams take the cake. Both pairs go for 5,295 php. Maybe Hideout’s got something good comin’ up…

I can easily make this a pass due to my lukewarm desire for Dunks and AF1s but I know it would be a disservice to the  community. Yes, there are a bunch of new Dunks and AF1s available in store now. The AF1s, both High and Low are both Premium Air Force 1s. They’re both part of the Check Pack- a pack that still baffles me. I’ve tried reading more about it but didn’t really get much. They do have a pattern by the middle panel and heel similar to the Futura joints from a few months back but that’s it.

The High tops come in Light Bone with Gum soles while the Lows are done in Red leather. The Highs look better with the gum sole as well as the muted color blocking, perfect for sunnier weather.

Then there are the Dunks. All Premium and neatly done. The black/reds I already posted on the Hideout update a few days ago, but the Blue/Grey/White and Orange/Gum ones are new to the update. I wasn’t able to take photos of the Polka dot Dunks for the ladies. I do remember seeing them a few months back during the Spring/Summer preview. The Blue/Grey are attractive, good enough to pass off as a Georgetown colorway. The Orange one is equally great as they are done in canvas and great for everyday wear.

I have to admit that I’m happy I gave up on the Dunk craze. After I stopped copping Dunks that’s when Nike opened the floodgates with the Dunks. From all sorts of material and special releases, it’s been a crazy 2 years with the Dunk. Can you imagine how much I would be spending on Dunks if I had continued?

Aside from the three Dunk Highs, there are a couple Dunk Lows worth mentioning. Though the colorways are reminiscent of a couple of Dunk Lows that came out earlier this year, or even far back as the Be True Dunks, they are matched differently. Tumbled leather with light suede makes it on both pairs. I like the black/grey version as it is easier to rock than the utility orange/blues.

All these Dunks and Air Force 1s are now available around town. Enjoy!

Unfortunately. Well, I can’t find the norm. But it’s great to see Nike doing the Dunk in other materials for a change. Here’s two pairs I saw over at Hideout last weekend. The Black/Red/White Dunk Hi CL you see here retails for 4,595 php and uses a mix of leather, nylon, and nubuck. We all know that I’ve graduated from the school of Dunk already but I don’t mind rockin’ these if I had a pair. Maybe change the laces to black for a more low profile look.

Another Dunk Hi available at Hideout is the Dunk High Premium “Burgundy”. Heavyweight burgundy canvas upper matched with bright blue laces to give a great contrast. Yes, the upper is burgundy, not brown. Zoom air has been patched for better comfort and gum soles to finish off the look. The Dunk High Premium retails for 5,295 php, not bad, for the materials used for this one. But then again, I do find the pair rather a tad bit expensive. Dunk High SBs go for 5k, and you’re getting a better story behind them too. But hey, if you’re not too particular about the history behind some pairs, then knock yourselves out. The guys over at Hideout are good people and they’ll make sure they’ve got something for you, like these Dunk Highs. Now if only they had something for me, like those damn elusive AM 90 Infrareds.

I know I can’t let this post shine through without mentioning the infrared 90s. Still can’t believe Nike Phils is holding out on us with this one. Crapola.

Alright. So we’ve had the Purple Omars and the PRod Takashis. What about the rest? They’re all dropping this weekend. I don’t know if I should thank you guys or curse you to the ground. Sneaker budget’s over the roof this July! Dunk Low, Bruin (sweet. my pick from the lot), and the Bruce Springsteen Dunk Hi. Prices are way affordable and should be easy, no questions asked cops this weekend.

Summer’s here! Well, for countries on the other side of the world, that is. The US and other western countries have their summer this time of the  year, and it’s also this time of the year sneaker brands bust out their brights and whites. That’s why Nike  through their NSW line dropped these perforated beauts over at Shoe Salon. The Dunk Hi AC and the Toki are done with a clean, crisp micro-perforated leather upper and a bronze lining between the upper and the midsole. There’s also an AF1 that’s part of the pack but might not drop here (unless I wasn’t paying attention). I was able to cop the Janoski that was also the same way and was able to rock it out for the last month of summer.If you want to risk ‘em, feel free to drop by Shoe Salon and pick them up.

Another option, which would make more sense, are these Tokis. They were really meant for Spring but would work best with the weird weather we’ve been having. The red accents are just right for the grey base.

The South Africa Kit was designed by Kronk, France by So Me of the Cool Cats Collective, Netherlands by graffiti artist Delta , England by James Jarvis, Brazil by Nunca, and USA by Mr. Cartoon. The mere fact that Nike NSW gathered these 6 amazing artists for their pack is simply amazing. I actually like the kit for England (Jarvis is a genius). Anyhoo, drop by Hideout for the Dunks. You’re lucky I’m not a fan of the Dunk anymore, I would’ve been on this like Delonte was on Gloria James. Ok. That was gross.

Here’s a Women’s Skinny Dunk I’m sure you’ve seen around. There’s actually 2 of them in this pack. I decided to go take a pic of the more colorful one. This is part of the Patchwork Pack for the Women’s Dunk series. Obviously you can see the checkers here. The other shoe has a more subtle design wherein they used pinstripes (the same pinstripes you see on this shoe). A couple more Women’s kicks in the coming days.
