Straight butta. Sadly, these did not drop locally. Thank god for friends who travel overseas. The Air Max 1 Honeycomb/White/Blue Spark dropped a few months ago and my friend was able to pick up a pair in HK. He was able to get them with a discount and came out to 3,800 php, A STEAL compared to other AM1s available locally. Though it’s quite hard to wear this with the rainy season, it’s one runner that’s a definite neck-breaker. Check out the Honeycombs.

When I saw this pop up on other sneaker sites, I just had to help. I’m a fan of the Air Max 1. If you go through the site, you’ll see my undying love for runners/retro running shoes. AMs, NBs, ZXs, Anjans, name it, I most likely dabbled into it at one point in my life. I remember reading about Matt Stevens and his MAX 100 project a while back. What started off as a daily rendition of the Air Max 1 turned out to be a hundred renditions of the “greatest shoe of all time”.

Enter Kickstarter. The site puts your business/project out there for people to fund. If you have a great idea (like Matt Stevens), put it on the site. He’s roughly 12,000 USD away from his target 30k for the project. What’s great is that he set rewards dependent on how much you donate. I think that’s incentive enough for people who really support the endeavor. So check the video out and click on the link here to donate for a great cause. He’s got til July 31st to hit the target and get the project up and running. Matt, you’re a genius and thanks for creating such an awesome project!

Nike released the first set of the ACG – Air Max series early this year and they recently released the rest of the pack over the weekend. An AM1 and AM90 come in different colorways this time around. To a certain extent, these colorways are easier to wear compared to the first set they released last January. Each pair comes with an extra set of laces. The Air Max 90 retails for 4,295 php while the Air Max 1 goes for 5,295 php. The ACG Air Max Pack is now available at the following stores:

Nike’s been dropping stuff all over the place and it’s been a while since I’ve posted some non-basketball kicks from the Swoosh. The ACG pack dropped a couple of weeks ago at Nike stores and released a couple of gems such as the women’s AM 87 you see right above this writeup. Going back to the ACG pack, Nike used ACG-inspired colors to the classic pairs (the 87 and 90). Both pairs come with extra laces and use the ACG logo on the tongue and heel. I’m waiting for the other colorways from the ACG pack. These are alright, especially if you want to change up your collection.

I dropped by MJ46 Center over the weekend to check out what they had in store. From being a full-on Nike outlet store, MJ46 has extended their range with other brands such as adidas, New Balance, Asics, and Reebok. The store’s pretty stocked right now, from Jordans to other Nike basketball lines (Hyperfuse), to NSW (Air Maxes, Ainna Chukka, VNTG Blazers). A couple of notables- Star Wars Droids (though sizes are small), Reebok Kamikaze (2010), SBs (Bags, Bloody Gums, Blazers and Zoom Classic), 6.0s and NB 1225s, and the AMs. I don’t even want to get into the AMs or else I would’ve gone home with 6 boxes easy. I got an email that they stocked up again so it’s always best to drop by and see what’s in store for MJ46.

Last week I posted the Black/red/cream AM1s that would definitely be a decent alternative in the event the All Black Pack don’t make it here. Now if you’re doubtful the Crepe AMs won’t make it here, here’s a decent alternative. These Grey AM1s are now available at Nike BHS. With the different shades of grey on the upper with the white midsole and and the gum outsole, what’s not to love? If you can’t wait on the Crepes, cop these joints.

Amidst the madness, Nike was able to squeeze in a couple more NSWs to go along with all the special releases over the weekend. There were a couple of AM90s but not good enough to make it here (well, at least accdg to me). Here’s two AMs- Air Max 1 and the BW that I think is worth picking up. Just in case the Black Pack won’t drop here, this is a great alternative. The red laces just pop out for the 1s. The off-white swoosh, vamp and lining provides a great accent to this subtle yet sleek colorway.

A lot of people don’t like the BW. This however, is the exception to the rule. The Huarache-esque Big Window AM is tight. I actually like these better than the Huarache-inspired AM90 that released last year. Again, that’s just me. Who am I to tell you what to buy, right?

Nike’s got a couple of basketball kicks that dropped this week- the Zoom LBJ Ambassador III (Summit Lake Hornets cw), the Rare Air (new colorway), and the LeBron 8 (gs). All these are available at Nike stores and other stores carrying Nike Basketball products. The Ambassadors in this colorway look much better than the initial cw that came out. The grey on white definitely makes the shoe a clean one. The Rare Air (above), well… they are MJs trademark colors. Do I like ‘em? ehhh. But I know some heads would still gravitate towards these regardless. The LBJ 8s are done in Team USA colors, but only available in GS sizes.

On the NSW end, we see another Air Max 90 and Air Max Light to add to a loaded Air Max line that we’ve seen over the past couple of months. The Light brings in a Laser Blue-esque colorway to the table. Quality’s much better than the Laser Blue if you ask me. The AM90 comes in deep red/burgundy colorway and a mesh/leather upper. There’s also some patent leather to give the shoe an added dimension. The NSW line is also available at Nike Parks and Stadiums this week.
