If you were out sneaker hunting this weekend, you might’ve seen these bad boys on the shelves already. Adidas TS Heat Check continues to bring the heat on the court with new colorways this August. There are three new colorways for the TS Heat Check and for more conservative and conventional fans, these are much more wearable than the last three.

The one you see here is the Black/Red colorway done for the Miami Heat in the NBA. The mix of mesh and patent leather on the upper definitely is a great look on or off the court. With the Miami beefing up their roster in the offseason, what better way to rep the hot Heat with the TS Heat Check? The adidas TS Heat Check retails for 5,995 php.

I’m now a day late but hey, better late than never, right? I do hope this feature will get you excited about what Titan has to offer. August 3, Titan finally opened their doors to friends and family after almost a year since the concept popped up in the minds of the team behind Titan Barbershop.

I was there pretty early and did notice the wide array of goods carried by the store. Just imagine- you’ve got the best items from all the major brands- Nike, Jordan Brand, Converse, adidas, And1, k1x, Reebok, and many others in the waiting. Check out the photos of the sneaker store on the 2nd floor.

sold out

Do they look better than the 2010s?

A surprise drop for Titan are these Hyperdunk 2010s. They have all 4 colors of the Highlighter Pack. Too flashy for you? It’s alright. But cop them while they’re still available.

sold out too

After scoping out the area, I, along with our BTV team interviewed the Jet about the store. Although it rained for a good 20 or so minutes, everyone enjoyed the night and it was a definite success from start to finish. Check out the rest of the night here.

For those who don’t rep the blue or green for their school, the third colorway of the TS Heat Check might stand out the most. I personally like the colorblocking on this one, with the blue and maroon accent on the pair. Do check out the shoe in store if the photos are too good to be true.

Currently, UP hotshot Mike Silungan and UST King Tiger Jeric Teng is rocking this colorway. Like it? They do. I’m not sure if you saw Mike talk about the shoe during the BTV feature on the media launch of the Heat Check. As you can see by the heel, this is B-Easy (Michael Beasley)’s PE. Funny, they don’t look at all like K-State or Miami. Could pass for the T-Wolves. Did adidas see that coming? Doubt it. This can work for Brook Lopez’ Nets uni too.

JOAQUIN CARLOS UY!

He wins a free pair of the adidas TS Heat Check! We got a good number of entries for the promo, considering I only gave people less than a week to send in their entries. Among 80, entries, only 4 people got it right. Most of the entries I got had Mike Silungan, who had 17 points when he made his season debut against the Green Archers. BUT, the TS Heat Check ambassador who scored the most was Kevin Alas, who scored 18 points in his debut against the JRU Heavy Bombers. People might’ve read wrong and thought Kevin scored 4 points in Letran’s first game. The Alas who played in that game was Kevin’s brother, Jun-Jun. The Knights’ second game was Kevin’s season debut.

For researching right, Joaquin wins a free pair of the adidas TS Heat Check! Details will be emailed to you soon after.

I want to thank everyone who joined the promo and the people who support the site. Do stay tuned for more on the TS Heat Check and future promos on Sole Movement! I’ve got a couple more promos waiting in the wings.

It’s been a long time coming. Upon hearing the concept a few months back, I liked the idea. It was too good to be true. And after a couple of months waiting and wondering, the wait’s almost over. This August, TITAN, the first ever basketball-dedicated retail store in the market will open its doors to the general public. It makes sense to do this, as the store was designed specifically with the Filipino basketball player in mind. Located in the up and coming Forbeswood Retail area at Burgos Circle (corner of Rizal Drive) in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig – TITAN will house the first and only basketball specialty store in the Philippines as well as a traditional 4-chair men’s barbershop.

“We wanted to create a space that would be perfect for anyone who loves basketball”, says Jeffrey Cariaso, co-founder and one of TITAN’s owners. “We wanted a store that would give basketball consumers the power of choice with the products that he wants. And with the barbershop, it was about having a space where if you’re into basketball and you love the game and the culture that comes with it, you’ll feel right at home.” The store will carry the latest and most innovative performance basketball footwear, apparel and accessories from Nike, adidas, Brand Jordan, And1, Converse, Reebok, K1X and New Era.

TITAN’s barbershop services will primarily focus on haircuts and shaves. TITAN will open on August 4, 2010, with 3 exclusive shoe releases from Nike slated on that day. The Nike Zoom Kobe V “Big Stage” Edition (Home and Away) and the Air Max LeBron VII NFW “MVP” shoe will be available in limited quantities on Opening Day.

More release information will be made available soon. Don’t worry guys. It’ll be real soon. Just a couple more days.

On the same day I dropped by the swoosh to check out the NSWs, I can’t not drop by the Three Stripes to see what’s new. It’s been an awfully quiet week. The ZX 800 tops my list of adidas drops worth mentioning. Pretty simple colorway, though would’ve been better if it had a tinge of a.o39 (adidas blue) to create a great accent. Regardless, this would work.

Aside from the ZXs, I was quite amused with the Toy Story pack by adidas. Both Woody and Buzz get their own special make up of the Vulkid Mid. Though I’m a fan of Buzz Lightyear, it’s Woody’s PE that I’m leaning towards to (Not that I would buy them). Ofcourse these came out right on time with the launch of the series’ 3rd installment. Did kids and parents alike gravitate towards ‘em? That we’ll never know.

Last but certainly not the least are the TS Low Motions. This ofcourse is a new colorway. I saw this in SG but opted not to take a photo while I was there. The shoe’s had great uppers to pair with the great sole tech. This cw is done in suede, which is nice, if you don’t plan on balling with them. Blue suede shoes, perhaps? Swing by adidas shops (both Performance and Originals) for these 3 finds.

As we finished the first game day for the UAAP, I’m sure you’ve noticed a couple of players wearing the TS Heat Check. The shoe featured today, the Green/White colorway, was worn by rookie hotshot Luigi de la Paz and the rest of the Green Archers last Saturday. They had a convincing win over the hapless Maroons who were led by another TS Heat Check ambassador, Mike Silungan.

Looking at the shoe up close, you can see how detailed the shoe can get. Though the shoe tends to look way too high (especially by the ankle area), this becomes an afterthought once you wear the shoe. With the shoe using Fluid Motion tech on the soles, cushioning is excellent and keeps you on your feet with ease. I’m not sure if you guys have seen the special feature BTV did on the launch, but players like Silungan and pro guard Josh Urbiztondo were raving about the shoe being lightweight and great for playing.

Now that all 5 Heat Check ambassadors have played their 1st (and 3 for the NCAA players) game this season, which TS Heat Check player had the best Opening game, points-wise? If you get the answer right, you win your own pair of the adidas TS Heat Check! Email your answers to martin@solemovement.com with the subject Heat Check giveaway. On your entry, name the player, the number of points he scored, and against which team. If you’re still not familiar with the 5 players, click here to know more about them. Promo ends this Sunday, July 18 for this month’s TS Heat Check Giveaway.

Last Monday, we were able to try out the TS Heat Check at a media gathering for the launch of the TS Heat Check. Media people from all over gathered for the latest innovation from the three stripes, and with it, got to try the shoe out. We were split into two teams, everyone garbed in adi gear- jerseys, shorts, socks, and ofcourse the TS Heat Check. I was dreading the high top as I ‘ve mentioned before, the last time I wore mid/high tops for ballin’ was a good 7 years ago. But when I tried them on, started running laps on them, they were damn comfortable! The padded collar worked out pretty well and the shoe was deceivingly light. Moving around with the shoe wasn’t a problem anymore.

Chris Ross, Mike Silungan, Josh Urbiztondo, and Kevin Alas rendered their services as coaches for the respective teams. Having these pros and college players definitely made the experience much more enjoyable, and it was also great to talk to the actual players who ball in them day in and day out.

To further make the scrimmage exciting, a pot was at stake. Upon hearing this, everybody all of a sudden put their game face on and went all out. After all, 50k worth adidas goods sounded pretty swell (wouldn’t you go all out too?). The shoe worked perfectly fresh out of the box and didn’t need much breaking in to make it work. A few plays in, you could visibly see the three stripes disappear from the Heat Check. Chiqui Reyes, PBA courtside talent, was on fire and shooting from all over. However, the bigger lineup led by James Meneses , Spy Lim and JM Pilares led to the other team’s victory.

Ofcourse Lia Cruz and Basketball TV were there to cover the event. You’re sure to see this special media event on TV in the coming days (if it hasn’t been airing already). Other adidas endorsers such as Drei Felix, Eric Tipan, Jai Reyes, Larry Fonacier, Jonas Villanueva, and Jeff Chan attended the event and everyone also expressed their appreciation for the shoe and how it performed on the court.

For more photos from the media event, do check out Sole Movement’s facebook page. Thanks again to adidas for the enjoyable afternoon event. We all had fun and the TS Heat Check made us all feel like all-stars on the court.

In the US, the TS Heat Check will be worn by the likes of Josh Smith, TD, B-Easy, Antawn Jamison, and Dwight. This year, adidas supports some local players of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).

As the It’s On Me has been running all year long for the Three Stripes, these local players are in the position to make a difference by leading their teams to victory this coming season. And with such a versatile shoe as the TS Heat Check, you can catch these 5 ambassadors change the game. Here’s the roster: Second year player Ron Pascual of the San Sebastian College Stags recalls vividly last season’s heat check moment as his team won the championship. He shares that “Focus and dedication were two of the main factors that lead their team to victory. I felt rewarded each time our team scored. Game 2 during the championships was the most exciting game last season.”

Also a second year player, Point Guard Kevin Alas of Letran promises to show leadership on and off court to make this season more exciting. “I will do my best by focusing on defense to challenge our opponents and try make things more exciting this season.”

Jeric Teng of the University of Sto. Tomas (UST) won’t forget the thrilling feeling he had as he makes the first score in of his matches against the University of the Philippines (UP) Fighting Maroons last season. “For me, that was the start of excitement in that game. I am also looking forward to UAAP Season 73. With passion and motivation, I will also help lead my team, especially the freshmen, to win this season”

For rookies of the De La Salle Green Archers Luigi de la Paz and Mike Silungan of The UP Fighting Maroons, both are looking forward to a fun and intense UAAP Season.
