atmos Manila is now open
It took a pandemic and then some, but atmos is finally here in the Philippines.
As early as 2018, we’ve heard grumblings around the scene that atmos was setting up shop in the Philippines. But with the Footlocker takeover and the pandemic happening, things had to take a break, with the brand assessing the best scenario.
Fast forward to 2023 and we’re getting a glimps of what’s to come. We were fortunate to get an invite to the private pop-up preview last night. Do note that this space is not the actual atmos store. It’s a pop-up, which will be the space for branded executions, curated activations, and for the next few weeks, their ‘stock room/store’.
Upon hitting the 3rd level of One Bonifacio, we’re greeted by an empty space (which will be filled in the coming weeks with differenct activations from brands). The atmos team gave us a tour of the space through the back door. The door opens up to small walkthrough, with a brief history of the store, their founder (Hommyo!) and the collabs we’ve seen over the last 20 years. A trio of Bearbricks occupy the next space with Auggie Fontanilla’s artwork on the wall, which will then be accompanied by other works in the coming weeks.
The main room is the ‘stock room’. Footwear and apparel from partner brands such as Nike, Jordan Brand, adidas Originals, New Balance, Asics, On, and Vans make up for the space. There were a couple of notables – Lost & Found Js, White Cement 3s, 990 V6s, adidas Supernova IRAKs, Sean Wotherspoon GL3s, and the Tom Sachs General Purpose Shoe.
We were able to get a quick pow wow with the Management team of atmos Philippines. They shared their story and what we can expect from the Japanese-based brand in the coming months/years. The team did share that the pop-up will change every so often, so a visit to the space every couple of weeks is definitely recommended.
atmos Manila is located at the 3rd Level of One Bonifacio, BGC.
