ICYMI: asphaltgold x ASICS Gel-DS Trainer OG “Jugendstil”

While Nike and adidas have been spewing heat over the past couple of months, the other brands were hard at work, too. Asics has been known for their collaborations, if not one of the best outside of the big two. If you’ve been following your sneaker stores intently, you should know that Sneak Peek recently released the collaboration between Asics and asphaltgold.

asphaltgold pays homage to their home city of Mathildenhöhe. The city’s been known to be the center of Art Nouveau, and architecture and the arts are reflected on to the Gel-DS Trainer OG. The shoe is dressed in buttery soft suede uppers done in evening sand (aka tan) with the Asics Tiger logo and heel in hot pink. asphaltgold’s logo is found on the tongue, insole and a flag label by the heel. There’s a lof of details to be found on the shoe, and you can start off with the Art Nouveau print on the neoprene tongue. The insoles are also done beautifully and the pair comes with co-branded flat laces and two sets of round laces in Rose Taupe and Evening Sand.

The Asics Tiger x asphaltgold Gel-DS Trainer OG “Jugendstil” retails for Php 9,200 and is exclusively available at Sneak Peek (Shangri-la/ATC). There should be some pairs available but don’t blame me if they’re all gone by the time you make it to the store.
