Brand New: ANTA’s set to drop the all-new KT8 this Monday

Posted on Oct 23, 2022 in ANTA

The Quest for 5IVE begins anew.

After an up-and-down season, Klay Thompson was able to play a key role for the Golden State Warriors in getting their fourth ring in 8 years. As we begin season 76, ANTA blesses Klay with his 8th signature shoe with the brand, the KT8. We were fortunate to get our hands on the first four colorways that are set to drop in the PH.

So what’s under the hood of the KT8?

But before we rattle off the tech found on the KT8, the most glaring design feature are the flaps. It’s basically two shoes into one. Need more stability and protection, keep it as a mid. Need more flexibility and speed? Fasten the collar and you have yourself a low top. But aside from all that, ANTA truly created a shoe that’s made for the best shooter in the game.

Duane Lawrence and the design team focused on GOLDEN SILENCE (which you can see on the shoe’s pull tabs) – representing the 941 days Klay took to get back to superior health. He contemplated a lot, kept to himself and in turn, silenced all the doubters and defractors when they won LOB #4.

For those who have tried the KT line before, you’ll notice that the KT8 is the lightest shoe in the signature line. 3D Flow is at the meat of it all, providing Klay with stability wih every move and direction. To add to that, ANTA also added a full-length carbon fiber plate for that heel to toe transition. Nitro (famously used on the last shoe as well as ANTA’s high end running shoes) cushioining encapsulated by the A-Flash EDGE and SMART SAM in the heel for shock absorption.

In terms of the design, Lawrence took inspiration for Thompson’s newfound passion/love for boating (what do you call his boat, the Splash Express is it?). So the shoe truly reflects Captain Klay in so many ways. ANTA used various uppers and materials, giving the shoe various design detail and texture.

Upon getting the pairs, there’s so much to look at! Each shoe has so much detail all over, from varying uppers, small details throughout that truly make this 8th shoe so special.

A morse code is seen around the heel that translates to 8, referring to the KT8.

Here’s a rundown of the colorways for the ANTA KT8:

ANTA KT8 ‘Remain White’

ANTA KT8 ‘Enough Said’

ANTA KT8 ‘Veterans Day’

ANTA KT8 ‘LA’

The ANTA KT8 drops tomorrow, October 24 across ANTA stores around the metro, with the shoe retailing for Php 8,995.
