We Want That Sauce – the McDonald’s x adidas Hoops collection is here

Posted on Sep 22, 2020 in Adidas

Yes, we want that Sauce.

Initially set to drop during the 2020 McDonald’s All-American Classic last April, adidas Hoops gives us the McDonald’s ‘Sauce Pack’ this September. adidas has been a staunch supporter of one of the best (if not the best) High School Basketball All-Star Games, it made sense for the brand to take their partnership with the Golden Arches up several notches with this sick basketball collection.

Taking on the colors of McDonald’s various sauce options, adidas Basketball created unique colorways for the D Rose 10, Harden Vol.4, T-Mac 1, and the Dame 6. While all four players have amazing basketball careers, it’s quite interesting that Lillard never made it to the All-American game during his senior year in High School before he went on to play at Weber State. Here’s a look at the four special make ups of the collection:

McDonald’s x adidas Dame 6 ‘Dame Sauce’

Dressed in bright green and orange hues, the colors of the Dame 6 are reminiscent of the Sweet & Sour sauce used for the McNuggets. ‘Dame Sauce’ can be found on the tongue, while the orange panels and ‘Sauce’ are found on the shoe’s medial side. On the lateral side, McDonald’s golden arches are set against the cool green. The Dame 6 ‘Dame Sauce’ retails for Php 6,000.

McDonald’s x adidas Harden Vol.4 ‘Sweet Chili’

While most of us in the PH have never tried McDonald’s Sweet Chili Sauce, they used the purple packaging for the Harden Vol.4. Just like the Dame 6, a branded McDonald’s-type label is found on the tongue with small McdDonald’s logo tabs on the side. There’s no other player in the League today that can be as sweet and hot as chili than James Harden. The McDonald’s x adidas Harden Vol.4 ‘Sweet Chili’ retails for Php 7,000.

McDonald’s x adidas D Rose 10 ‘Sauce’

Who doesn’t want ketchup with their fries? No other combination works (well, maybe except for fries and sundaes) than Mickey D’s fries and ketchup. That’s what adidas used as inspiration for the D Rose 10. Among the 4 signature players, Derrick Rose had the most hype coming in to the All-American game. To honor his stint during the game, the #25 (his high school jersey and All-American jersey number) is found around the collar, while splatters of ketchup are found throughout the sneaker. The McDonald’s x adidas D Rose 10 retails for Php 6,500.

McDonald’s x adidas T-Mac 1 ‘Sriracha Mac Sauce’

Don’t you just wish we had all these sauces here in the PH? For T-Mac’s sauce, what better way than to pair him with the Sriracha Mac Sauce. The sauce is a spicy take on the classic Big Mac sauce, now used for Nuggets among other things. The red and gold packaging fits right into the T-Mac 1, with the packaging found by the heel. The golden arches are found on the heel, lining and the shoe’s outsole. The T-Mac 1 ‘Sriracha Mac Sauce’ retails for Php 7,000.

The McDonald’s x adidas Hoops ‘Sauce Pack’ is now available at select adidas Homecourt stores as well as via the adidas Viber community.
