UNVEILED: adidas DAME 6
The signature shoe has become an extension of the athlete in more ways than one. Earlier today, adidas Basketball and Damian Lillard unveiled his latest shoe, the Dame 6. The shoe tells the story of Lillard’s duality both on and off the court.
“I come out to compete against people, but I don’t say a whole lot. I don’t talk trash, I just go at them every opportunity I get,” said Lillard. “There’s a way to go about it in life and in basketball, being compassionate and ruthless. It’s important to have both; I was raised that way.”
adidas Basketball believes the Dame 6 embodies Lillard’s multi-dimensional persona. The outer side speaks to Dame’s focus, while the interior peels back the layers to showcase Dame’s ruthless mindset on the court. Similar to the Harden Vol.4, the Dame 6 is the first in the line to feature LIGHTSTRIKE technology. The LIGHTSTRIKE midsole provides the right balance between comfort and responsiveness, perfect for Lillard’s style of play, be it his drives to the hoop or step-back threes.
For a more precise fit and lateral support, the Dame 6 features an anatomical webbed lacing system which provides that lock-down fit. A translucent outsole also features a new traction pattern with a dynamic heel edge and rounded edges, perfect for multidirectional movements.
The first colorway for the Dame 6 is dubbed ‘Ruthless’. When it’s Dame Time, we all know Lillard is all business. Ruthless is painted on the medial side while a black textile mesh upper provides breathability amidst the pink and green accents. For added detail, they added a black suede overlay right on the toe box.
Another colorway that was unveiled was the “Hecklers” pack, which is a nice way of dropping team colorways. Just like how he kept the opposition quiet during the Playoffs, the shoe has “Get Dealt With” message throughout the shoe and the word “Hecklers” by the heel tab for all to see as Dame walks off the court.
The adidas Dame 6 ‘Ruthless’ officially drops November 29, while the ‘Hecklers’ pack is set to drop January 18th. Keep it locked here for more information on the additional colorways.
