Today’s Pick: adidas ZX 10000C

Posted on Feb 23, 2019 in Adidas

As much as adidas purists would put EQT on top of the list of archives, I personally am a fan of the ZX family. From the ZX 500 to the latest models that incorporate Boost and Primeknit, the ZX line has been at the very core of the brand’s running line. As we’ve seen Commonwealth bring back the ZX line with the ZX 500 RM, adidas Consortium introduces us to the ZX 10000C.

Just like last weekend’s S-97, adidas looked in-house to create this special release. adidas Consortium received inputs from Jacques Chassaing, the lead designer of the ZX running series as well as one of the most popular tech systems created by adidas, the Torsion system. While the ZX line ended with the ZX 9000, the ZX 10000C continues the line, complete with the Torsion system intact. With the colors ranging from aqua, orange, and some neutral tones, the ZX 10000C harkens back to those early ZX days in the 80s. It may seem busy at first with all the types of material uses (premium suede overlays, mesh underlays, webbed Stripes, TPU heels, etc), but they all come together, just lke any other well-built ZX silhouette.

The adidas Consortium ZX 10000C drops today exclusively at Commonwealth in very limited quantities. The store is offering the shoe on a first come, first served basis. There’s definitely more coming our way from this Consortium story but this is a can’t miss.
