Posted on Sep 23, 2020 in Adidas

Now this is something we want.

Visionary creative and archivist NIGO creates another adidas by Human Made collection this September. For this collection, NIGO takes his love for vintage sporting silhouettes now under the adidas by Human Made lens. If you haven’t fully grasped the essense of the two’s partnership, the focus of their messaging is all about ‘Future is in the past”. For this collection, NIGO and adidas Originals unveil the Tokio Solar HM, UNOFCL HM as well as running-inspired apparel and graphic tees.

The key highlight for this collection is the Tokio Solar HM. The shoe takes inspiration from the Tokio trainer that released back in 1962 for the 1964 Tokyo Summer Olympics. The details are quite similar with the suede T-toe and mudguards, as well as the serrated X heel detailing. The reimagined sneaker now comes equipped with a Boost sole and Primeknit uppers. The Human Made heart logo is embossed on the shoe’s heel patch.

For the campaign, NIGO also took inspiraiton from the Japanese art form of Kabuki featuring Kabuki actor Toranosuke Nakamura. Later this year, the second shoe from the collection is set to release – the UNOFCL HM. The classic court sneaker redesigned by Human Made. The shoe uses velcro straps with each strap emblazoned with the slogan “GEARS FOR FUTURISTIC TEENAGERS.”. The Three Stripes are made of heart-shaped perforations pressed on to the full-grain leather upper. The heel features “HUMAN MADE” and “DRY ALLS” printed on them, while the Human Made heart logo is found on the tongue. The UNOFCL HM is set to release at a later date but available in Japan this week as well.

Accompanying the footwear is the adidas by Human Made apparel. A three-pack of white tees feature the Human Made x adidas logo, done in navy, red, and yellow. The adidas trefoil logo can be found on the rear neck for additional branding. There’s also a white tee with Katakana text translating to “adidas by NIGO”, as well as a striped long-sleeve tee with a chest logo as well a serrated edge border found on some sneakers such as the Campus.

There’s also a French terry cotton sweatshirt with three stripes on the left arm, and HM heart logo on the chest. The collection also features cotton shorts in collegiate navy as well as a mesh crop top featuring the adidas trefoil logo on the chest and the HM heart logo on the back.
