The adidas Originals and Craig Green Collection is now available
Debuted back in June 2019 during the London Fashion Week, the footwear collaboration between adidas Originals and Craig Green is now available. The footwear features design ingenuity and freedom to experiment, pretty much what both parties bring to the table.
“Footwear is like a sculpture,” says Craig Green. “There’s so much you can do with sneakers that you can’t do with clothing. It’s exciting to think of all we can create in this collaborative project with adidas Originals.”
The collection features two silhouettes – the CG Kontuur I and CG Kontuur II. If you look closer, Green took hold of two classic silhouettes – the Kamanda and Ozweego. For both silhouettes, Green wanted to replicate the sole onto the upper of the sneakers. The perforated front of the CG Kontuur I seems like it was punctured by the Kamanda sole. The deep-quilted stitch lines of the Ozweego sole are similar to those of the CG Kontuur II.
To further encapsulate the initial collection, Green brought in designer Dan Tobin Smith. Using the silhouettes, Smith utilized the shoes and deconstructed them and turned the into anatomical sculputres that resemble small frogs.
The adidas Originals x CG Kontuur I comes in Core Black and Navy (not available locally), while the CG Kontuur II comes in Black and Multi Solid Grey. Both silhouettes come with the adidas Originals by Craig Green branding both on the tongue and heel. Each pair retails for Php 15,000 and is now available at adidas.com.ph.
