RUN CITY: adidas partners with Brit-brand Universal Works for the 2nd Run City Pack

Posted on Nov 28, 2019 in Adidas

After releasing the initial FW19 Run City Pack with Wood Wood, adidas Running continues the series, this time with British menswear brand Universal Works.

As mentioned before, running offers unparalleled opportunities for self-expression and fulfillment. Regardless of purpose, every runner has their own set of motivations for pulling on their kit and getting their run on.

Working with Universal Works and their co-founder David Keyte, UW took inspiration from functional requirements for running through London’s cold, wet winters. But equally, it is inspired by the desire to run in apparel and footwear that meets the same aesthetic standards you would apply to everyday clothing. UW uses materials like polyester and insulating fabrics such as wool. As Keyte says, “wool scares a lot of runners, but it can be much more breathable, and regulate heat far more effectively, than cotton even. It’s a natural fibre too which is a bonus, with real spring and elasticity.”

In terms of footwear, we get two new versions of the UltraBOOST 19. Done in neutral, natural shades of white and brown, allowing the functional qualities to come to the fore- Primeknit 360 uppers, BOOST cushioning, Torsion System and its 3D heel frame. Apparel won’t be available in the PH.

The Universal Works Ultraboost 19 is now available online and in-store for Php 12,000.
