Not Done Yet: adidas releases the D Rose 10

Posted on Sep 16, 2019 in Adidas

Where One Chapter Ends, the Next Begins.

After teasing us all back in January, adidas Basketball and Derrick Rose recently unveiled (and released) the 10th shoe from his signature line, the D Rose 10. After a successful bounce back season with Minnesota, Rose recently signed with the Detroit Pistons to continue his comeback story, one story his fans from China (and all over the world) continue to follow. It made perfect sense for Rose to unveil the shoe in Beijing, where he’s still regarded as one of the best in the game. It’s also worth noting that Rose is only one of 8 players to have a signature line go past 10 sneakers.

The D Rose 10 is a way for Rose to close out a chapter as the campaign would put it, but also a beginning to the next phase of Rose’s career. Taking design cues from his earlier silhouettes (the Crazylight, Rose 1, Rose 2.5 are the most evident), the D Rose 10 is sure to be a winner for any Derrick Rose fan. With the padded collar comes a BOUNCE midsole for flexible cushioning. Similar to other adidas basketball silhouettes, the D Rose 10 utilizes a herringbone pattern that lets you stop and pivot on a dime.

While there have been five colorways during its debut, two colorways are currently available at the adidas PH webstore and select adidas Homecourt stores. A Cloud White/Active Orange/Core Black marks the shoe’s hero colorway while a ‘China’-specific colorway is also available paying homage to his fans from the country. For added detail, 88_08-09 as well as 10-11 MVP are listed on the shoe’s TPU heel, signifying the year Rose was born (’88), the year he was drafted (’08-’09) and the year he was the League’s MVP (’10-’11). The shoe’s pull tabs are different based on the colorway and may have D ROSE 10 or chinese characters stitched on it.

The adidas D Rose 10 is now available and retails for Php 6,500.
