London Calling: adidas SPEZIAL Drop Two

Last March, we were finally treated to the first collection of adidas SPEZIAL to drop this year. While we are quite familiar with adidas Consortium, the SPEZIAL range is the very best take on adidas’ iconic collection but modernized for today’s audience.

For Drop 2, adidas continues to work with one of the OG collectors Robert Brooks – aka ‘Brooksy’ – and his life in London. His personal collection was used as a point of reference, now highlighting key silhouettes worn by London’s adidas tribes and collectors. The key silhouette of the collection is the SILVERBIRCH SPZL, was inspired by the adidas Denver, but now referencing where Brooksy grew up in London. The orange Sunnyhurst sweatshirt, Aldwych cargo shorts and Meehan polo shirt all complete that look made famous around Londontown. Also part of the collection is the Earlham, a hybrid silhouette which was inspired by the Gaea 950, a Made in France sneaker from adidas.
