Could this be the best POD release for 2018?

Posted on Dec 20, 2018 in Adidas

Earlier this year, adidas Originals released a new silhouette, the POD System. The POD-S3.1 was in a way the evolution of the NMD, with its Boost heel, point of deflection bridge as well as a very responsive EVA forefoot. The shoe hasn’t performed as well as its predecessor, but this may have been due to the steady flow of releases and similar releases from its competitors.

After last October’s release and the Slam Jam collab, the POD is back this December, with an updated price point and an even better material upgrade. Doing away with its knitted upper, the POD-S3.1 now comes with a two-piece suede and mesh upper this season. The contrast in the shoe’s upper is definitely a welcome change from the tonal uppers of the previous iterations. The mesh forefoot provides a little more character while the shaggy suede adds texture, making the POD a little more premium than most of its counterparts. The blue tabs and electric yellow POD bridge accent the shoe, completing the sneaker’s overall aesthetic.

The adidas POD-S3.1 is now available at Sole Academy and the adidas PH online store. The sneaker retails for Php 6,000.
