adidas unveils their fastest running shoe ever

Posted on Jun 26, 2020 in Adidas

Fastest ever? adidas seems to think they’ve hit the mark.

Today, adidas unveiled their latest and fastest running shoe to date, the adizero adios Pro.

Over the last few years, adidas has been working with runners from all over the world — be it casual or elite — to come up with the best possible running shoe. Both Joyciline Jepkosgei and Rhonex Kipruto provided feedback to the team to help better understand several nuances to come up with the right shoe. With that input, adidas had a breakthrough with the EnergyRods.

Consisting of five tuned carbon-infused rods, they mimic the metatarsal bones of the foot, which allows runners to maintain speed over a longer period of time without the body breaking down as fast.

For the shoe’s upper, adidas utilized Celermesh, an ultra-lightweight mesh upper truly meant for speed. Providing flexibility where its needed, while keeping it breathable and lightweight.

Lastly, the midsole cushioning. The midsole features two layers of LightstrikePRO, the brand’s lightest and most responsive foam. The midsole also features a nylon and carbon fiber heel plate. The heel plate together with the EnergyRods offer stability in the ankle joint, correcting the bending behaviour of the runner’s foot.

The adidas adizero adios Pro will be available on June 30 via the adidas app (to be confirmed if it will be available in the PH version). Runners can register to join the raffle for a chance to purchase the shoe. In case you missed it, adidas PH recently launched the adidas app. Head on over to the Apple app store or Google Play Store to download.
