adidas SUPERSTAR 2020: Change is a Team Sport

Posted on Jan 28, 2020 in Adidas

Earlier this month, we put the spotlight on the adidas Superstar, as the iconic silhouette is set to celebrate 50 years. The shoe’s been on the feet of the most notable personalities, be it in sport, music or the arts. As we celebrate 50 years of culture makers, boundary pushers, and limit breakers, adidas Originals launches Change Is a Team Sport.

Over the course of the year, adidas Originals will use the power of teamwork to create and inspire positive change in local communities across the globe. To kick things off, adidas launched the campaign with a film directed by and starring Jonah Hill, featuring a cast of adidas’ family of creators. The film focuses on skater Jenn Soto as she goes through the adidas facility where creators come together to work for change. The video stresses that it’s teamwork that drives change for Soto and all the creators.

For Hill, his desire was to shine a light on the full landscape of creative expression:

THERE’S NO KNOWLEDGE WITHOUT THE OLDER GENERATION WHO DID IT FIRST. AND THERE’S NO CHANGE OR PROGRESSION WITHOUT THE NEW GENERATION. SO IF THOSE TWO GENERATIONS COME TOGETHER, I FEEL LIKE THAT CREATES THE ATOMIC CHARGE FOR GREAT ART AND GREAT CREATIVITY. – Jonah Hill

If you missed it, the Change is a Sport video features Ninja, Kerwin Frost, Blackpink, Pharrell Williams, Yara Shahidi, Anitta, Jenn Soto, Mariah Duran, Mark Gonzales, Blondey, Tyshawn Jones, Liz Cambage, Pogba, Nigo, Jackson Wan, Chris Severn, Mette Towley, Tracy McGrady, Anna Isoniemi, and Jonah Hill.
