adidas Originals reimagines the Streetball

Posted on Sep 22, 2019 in Adidas

While most kids into sneakers these days were born in the ’90s, we were fortunate to have been in the thick of it when it was happening. From the more traditional styles like the Top Ten or Conductor, adidas and other brands created silhouettes that were rich in tech and innovation. As they were introducing new styles into the market, brands created sneakers that were specific to where you played the sport. Streetball was big and adidas capitalized on that category by introducing the Streetball shoe.

Nearly three decades after, adidas Orignials dug into their basketball archive to reimagine the Streetball. The new iteration strips the overbuilt design but takes inspiration from it with a more angular, contemporary design. The upper uses premium leather with textile underlays, while featuring a chunky heel stabilizer and streamlined lacing system. The updated upper sits on a LIGHTSTRIKE midsole coupled with a durable rubber outsole. The new Streetball is finished off with throwback branding on the tongue and reflective welded 3-Stripes.

The all-new Streetball drops this Thursday, September 26 in two colorways (Core Black and Cloud White). The shoe retails for Php 6,800 and will be available at select adidas stores and adidas.com.ph.
