adidas Originals officially unveils the OZWEEGO

Posted on Jun 10, 2019 in Adidas

Earlier this month, adidas Originals released their PRIDE Pack in celebration of PRIDE month. While the pack featured the UltraBoost 19, Nizza Low, and the Continental 80, the last silhouette is the newest of the bunch – the OZWEEGO. With the aggressive design language of the ’90s, adidas Originals took the classic design and reinterpreted it for today’s generation.

While most shoe aficionados were too young to remember, the OZWEEGO (before RAF SIMONS used it for his own line) was way ahead of its time with its hyper-futuristic design. For this iteration, adidas took on the OZWEEGO 3 from 1998 and tweaked it further. adiPRENE and adiPRENE+ were pretty groundbreaking from back in the day and were kept as they made the shoe comfortable. Today’s OZWEEGO features updates with a modern interpretation of the eyestays, midsole lines and translucent support tube. To keep it in check from the ’90s, the OZWEEGO uses classic mesh, suede and TPU construction across the shoe’s upper.

While the OZWEEGO Pride bursts with color, the hero colorway comes in white with solar yellow and blue accents. The adidas OZWEEGO releases on June 22 and will retail for Php 6,500 and will be made available across adidas.com.ph, adidas Originals Neighborhood stores and select retailers such as Sole Academy and Commonwealth. Stay tuned for more information as we approach release day.
