adidas officially unveils the D.O.N. Issue #2
We’re officially a week back into NBA action and throughout the preparations leading up to the Restart, we’ve seen Donovan Mitchell wear his latest shoe on court, the D.O.N. Issue #2. Today, adidas Basketball officially unveils the sneaker to the world as it continues to be force of positive disruption on the court and in the communities.
Taking a closer look at the D.O.N. Issue #2, the shoe features BOUNCE cushioning, offering both comfort and stability for that true explosiveness needed by every player. Similar to other adidas Basketball silhouettes, the shoe prides itself with superior traction for that great on-court feel. The shoe features a higher heel counter, while the upper uses an engineered soft and breathable mesh. The webbed lacing system helps in the shoe’s lateral support.
To banner in the new shoe, adidas and Donovan Mitchell collaborated with two partners – Marvel and Crayola. Both collaborations celebrate Mitchell’s love for superheroes (Marvel) as well as his creative nature and dedication to youth development.
adidas D.O.N. Issue #2 x Marvel ‘Spidey-Sense’
Just like the Issue #1, Mitchell takes on his ‘Spida’ persona with the ‘Spidey-Sense’ colorway. The electric green colorway reflects Donovan’s trust in his instincts to guide his actions towards positive outcomes on and off the court. The shoe glows in the dark and has a Spider-Man graphic on the inside tongue. ‘Spidey-Sense!’ can be seen on the lacing while ‘BOOM’ and ‘POW’ are found on the outsoles, just to push that comic book feel.
adidas D.O.N. Issue #2 x Crayola
These are colorful! adidas Basketball and Crayola team up to represent Mitchell’s desire to inspire others to express themselves on court, in the classroom and in life. With Donovan pushing change on all angles, this one hits close to home. His mother, an elementary school teacher, played a major role in influencing his appreciation for education and encouraged him to use his imagination and voice.
The Crayola pack comes in three sets, all done in classic Crayola colors: Sky Blue, Banana Mania, and Jazzberry Jame. ‘Free to Create’ can be seen on the lacing while ‘Crayola’ can be seen on the shoe’s outsole.
The adidas D.O.N. Issue #2 x Marvel ‘Spidey-Sense’ is slated to drop on August 29 and the Crayola pack later this October. Team colors are also set to drop this August. The shoe retails for Php 5,500.
The ‘Spidey-Sense’ is now releasing September 18 across adidas stores and partner stockists.
