adidas made their classics for the future

It’s been 7 years since adidas announced their partnership with Parley for the Oceans, definitely a step towards the brand’s goal of reducing plastic waste and a brighter tomorrow. We’ve seen the brand launch several silhouettes before, from 4Ds to Ultraboosts and a boatload of boost-laden shoes that we’ve grown accustomed to. Tomorrow, the collaboration takes another step, this time dropping a collection of iconic styles for the future, from the Forum (everyone’s current favorite) to the Superstar, the Stan Smith, the Nizza and a bunch of others.

We know the deal here — the classics are now made with at least 50% Parley Ocean Plastic and the rest made of recycled polyester. I applaud adidas for the conscious and deliberate effort to reduce plastic waste, and in return, reducing their carbon footprint across the world. What’s great here is that we’re not relegated to the brand’s latest innovations, but now you can help save the earth in your timeless classics.

Here’s a breakdown of the latest adidas x Parley collection:

There’s definitely a lot of silhouettes to go through, first of which would be the Nizza. The Nizza Parley Hi and Nizza Parley Lo uses a wrapped webbing for the upper, which is basically assembled layer by layer to minimize waste in the production process. The Nizza Parley Hi and Lo go for Php 7,500. The Nizza Parley Hi (top right) goes for Php 6,000, while the Nizza Hi (top left) goes for Php 5,000.

When we talk about classics, we can’t dismiss the two huge icons – the Stan Smith and the Superstar. The pairs on the left (with the vintage-style midsoles) comes with a drop-in BOOST sole, stripe and heel tab webbing to go with the recycled materials. These go for Php 6,500 while the base pairs (right) retail for Php 4,800.

As mentioned, the latest collection also comes with everyone’s new favorite, the Forum Mid (Php 6,500), Forum Low (Php 5,000), and Forum Bold (Php 5,000), as well as the NMD_R1 (Php 8,000) and ZX 8000 (Php 8,000). Aside from tomorrow’s releases, the Nizza Hi Parley will be dropping in a couple more colorways on the 27th. Each pair below retails for Php 4,800.

The latest adidas x Parley collection will be available tomorrow, April 22 via the adidas app, adidas.com.ph and at select adidas stores around the metro.
