adidas gives the EQT Support an upgrade

Posted on Sep 3, 2018 in Adidas

It hasn’t been said enough that adidas’ EQT line has been one of the key moments in the brand’s history. From nearly going bankrupt, adidas turned to everything that was essential and shun away what was not. adidas changed their look, ditched their heritage and looked towards the future. The new range was groundbreaking and jumpstarted the brand altogether.

Over the 20 years, adidas would retro several pairs from their EQT collection, not really knowing how it fits into the whole scheme of things. In 2008, adidas re-released the EQT Running Support (now dubbed the EQT Support 91), one of the key silhouettes from first EQT line. Not only did the shoe trigger nostalgia from the sneaker-loving market, but truly made the brand review its strategy behind their storied past.

Fast forward to 2017 and the brand has re-imagined EQT. Introducing Boost into its construction, adidas fans were introduced to the EQT 93/17, a sneaker that had amazing cushioning and a design truly inspired by its past. This past weekend, adidas released their latest revamped sneaker – the EQT Support 91/18.

The EQT Support 91/18 keeps the design close to the original with the Three Stripes midfoot TPU cage. The original colors of black, white, grey and sub green are also utilized to keep things OG as possible. The Primeknit sock upper also features “EQT 91/18” as it is embroidered on the base of the tongue. Lastly, Boost soles keep it comfortable while the Stealth rubber outsoles provide unbeatable grip. The EQT Support 91/18 is one of the better updates the brand has done for the EQT.

The adidas EQT Support 91/18 is now available at Commonwealth, Sole Academy and adidas Originals Neighborhood stores. The shoe retails for Php 9,000.
